I don't want to doubt gods existence, but I find it really hard sometimes not to listen to logic, and I know god is not logical, and doesn't care for logic. I guess, what I want to know is how can you be so sure? I want the same unshakable faith, but find it so difficult to achieve.

Share with us what 'logic' you find it difficult not to listen to?

Then we will have a better idea what is bothering you my friend.

God is not against logic and in fact His Creation is very logical and orderly. BUT God also goes beyond logic without contradicting it as in 'supranatural'. Take for example the Incarnation, does it follow that a virgin can give birth to the Son of God?...only if God steps into His creation.

Ask God to bestow upon you the unshakeable faith.

Luke 17

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.7But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? 8And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? 9Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. 10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
This is the answer given to apostles...

Believing is not easy is it?. Where your present thinking is at the moment, is not a bad place to start from. When I got out of the military, I wanted to hitch-hike across the country with nothing but a light back pack.
I remember standing on the outskirts of L.A., asking myself, “Are you crazy? Three thousand miles with twenty bucks in my pocket. Might be bad weather, no place to sleep or clean up…and hay,,,there are nuts out there. ”As you get older you get smarter.
Jumping into a belief of God with nothing but a back pack full of notes that read, “Just believe,” well that might work for the first few miles, but when trouble comes along, everything falls apart. I guaranty you would never go down that road again. I‘ve seen to many folks jump right in, and fall by the roadside.
Tell you what I recommend. Keep your life pretty much as it is, and find a mature Christian who will give you a weekly Bible study. All Christians will do it for free. If one wants to charge…their not a good Christian…yeah, like everything else, we have some of those.
Start a search of local churches on your computer. Make a service or two, God will hock you up with the right person.
This is a good Christian forum to learn from also, but you need a face to face person. If you’ve read through some of the threads on our forum, you’ll see we don’t all agree on some things. That’s normal. Human nature I guess. One thing most agree on…there is a God, and we want to serve him. There’s a lot of people like yourself too.
One more thing. If you’re ever feeling stupid enough to hitch hike across the county, do it from truck stop to truck stop…most have showers, an hot coffee. Plus their open all night. See you around the forum

Your own self awareness proves the existence of a greater cause. Matter cannot simply become self aware.

Likewise the order we see in the universe proves the existence of a greater order. While set laws can produce order in the sense of crystals and snow flakes, set laws cannot produce complex information systems (ie. lead to an increase in order) which is a requirement for the "no God" scenario.

The professing Atheists in the scientific community are self deceived.

Science is valid in the sense that it is premised on testable and repeatable observation which allows the testing of a thesis. This can be termed as "Operational Science" and it is what has gives us technology and an understanding of many natural systems.

The error that the science community makes is they ignore the set limitations of Operation Science by extrapolating their observations into the past and make conclusions from such extrapolations. The problem is that the past is not observable nor is it testable thus it is outside of the realms of Operation Science.

Even when we view starlight, which gives us a perceived picture of the past we make the assumption that there has not been an interposition of factors that remain unknown to us which would modify our observations.

I don't understand how anyone can doubt God's existence. Do you think this whole world just HAPPENED? Look at this world. If anything were a fraction off it would not spin out of control. That didn't just happen. There had to be intelligence behind this creation, Just look at the human eye alone. It is so intricate it's unbelievable. That's just one little part of the body think of all of the other parts of the body, Did that just happen? Impossible. You can't go wrong believing in Him and reading His word and follow the plan of salvation.

I agree, Jody50. How can you look at even the most minute part of this world and not see God's hand? It amazes me every day. What I want to ask is how anyone can think one explosion of "something" created all this. And they can never say where that "something" came from. No, God is the most logical explanation.

Hey there.

A lot of people think that belief in God is illogical. That's because we hear it in the movies and on TV. Modern culture is set against God and belief. But the fact of the matter is, belief in God is actually very logical. I could talk about this for hours but if you really want to have your concerns addressed feel free to reply in this thread or PM me. I'll do what I can to answer you. So what specifically are you needing? Reasons to believe God exists? How it's possible to adhere to logic and still believe in God, etc.?
