It's very simple: if you don't want God's healing power, then you can go to the doctor. Just keep in mind, doctor's practice medicine, but God perfected it. If a deadly disease attacks someone, often doctors fail. Jesus never fails.

Perhaps you never notice Matthew 8:17 proves the Isaiah 53 passage WAS for physical healing.
No acknowledgement of my question about why those millions of WoF Africans are still poor and starving?

yeah I relate to your experience of the cold thing. I was told that I should never confess sickness and to get well I needed to pray a bunch of prayers daily commanding the morning. They got mad at me when I struggled with that

I still bear the scars .I have found a very inclusive church now and am sticking with them. The wof types think am backsli dden. I guess I am. They also don't bother with the poor or needy. Some of these churches say if you tithe you are blessed but if you don't tithe you are cursed

I have spent my life feeling like am one big mistake and no longer want anything to do with any kind of religion that makes me feel that way again

Am living an utterly.selfish life focusing on my own healing from all the sexual physical mental abuse I grew up with and the teaching from the churches. Am sure God thinks am a failure and despises my me sometimes

I hear voices telling me im an abomination and under judgement

writing this with tears in my eyes as I just find I don't fit in with a decent Christian lifestyle

sweet girl!

i have no clue what this thread is supposed to be about, but i'm taking it off-piste a bit with apologies to the OP.

i've only read this last post; the one you wrote. do you have children? ours are grown but even now, and especially when they were little ones, if they became ill it broke my heart. there wasn't anything (short of sin) i wouldn't have done to ease their pain and make them better. me, sinful woman that i am, as a mom i would happily have taken their illnesses to myself, and i know my husband felt the same way.

dear child, do you think the Lord is less compassionate toward you? do you not know how compassionate He is toward His sin-sick children? how the Lord of Glory took on human flesh and frailty in order to take our spiritual illnesses to Himself to make us better?

if your only hope in life and in death is the Lord Jesus, i assure you you aren't under judgement; you have passed from death to life. and you are loved! loved so completely you can't imagine.

will you do me a favor? there's a book called The Bruised Reed, written a long time ago by a countryman of yours called Richard Sibbes. it's in the public domain, so you can read it online without payment. if i weren't so old and stupid i would give you a link. :giggle:

let me know if you have trouble finding it, and i'll PM you (with your permission, of course) with instructions to find a copy online.

i know how hard it is to believe what God says, and i know how very important it is that we believe Him.
i will be praying for you. ♥♥♥

On the contrary, when God sees us He sees us through the perfect lens of His Son. He sees you as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He sees you as one of the redeemed. He sees you as a child He loves. Quit beating up on yourself! God LOVES you! It does not matter if no human loves you - GOD loves you as one of His own daughters.

Just remember the many verses in proverbs that we are what we say. NEVER, I say NEVER say bad things about yourself. If you know, if you speak, it will be something bad about you, then don't say it! There are many "in Him" scriptures. The more you meditate on what God says about you, the better you will feel about yourself.

By the way, if you love Jesus, and can talk to Him, you are not backslidden. I have left churches that are always talking about tithing as if it were a law today. It is NOT a law for us. We are not under the law. Today we SOW and if we can sow 1% cheerfully, I can assure you, God will receive it cheerfully! I will guarantee this: God has a place just for you. It will fit you for all eternity! Finally, be happy. Find JOY in the fact that you are forgiven and a child of the Most High God.

Have you BEEN there? Have you listened to them talk? God's word is universal! It works everywhere and anywhere.

Yeah I often wonder some so many Christians all around this world. are poor and starving . I don't like when Wof churches imply that if one is poor then they don't have faith. Makes me angry and sad

I used to be involved in Word of Faith movement and it really messed me up. I was told that if I only had faith I would get well and it was my fault that I didn't

I have tried to end my life more than once

I have complex PTSD, OCD, borderline PD, eating disorders, a form of dystonia, possible but as yet undiagnosed aspergers. I just feel like a complete failure before God because I don't have the faith to get healed and be acceptable to Him
WHO SAID you are not acceptable to Him? Some voice? Forget voices. There are many voices in this world and most of them hate us! Find a promise in the bible and listen to it!

Many have told me that including my own father who was in ministry and other believers....

I wonder what happened to Paul . . . and why he was sick. What did Paul do to become sick? Did he fall away somehow?

Galatians 4:13-14 NIV - "As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you, 14 and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself."
Silly! Paul was STONED TO DEATH! Is that an "illness?" Don't try it to find out! Can you imagine what Paul looked like when he returned to the very city that stoned him? He must have looked a site. I can't imagine those that threw the stones - what they were thinking - when they saw him alive and walking.

That has nothing to do with my question. You didn't answer it because the fact is, they didn't manifest money or BMW's or food. If there was a sudden influx of money and wealthy possessions in a country infamous for its poverty it would have gained world wide coverage. All those millions of people that were taught they simply had to speak their millions into existence never got it. Because it isn't true. And that's a Reality and a Fact you can't scripture twist your way out of.

So do you agree with me that Paul, in Romans to Philemon, never taught us in the Body of Christ, all that you are saying in this post?

Where did you learn all this doctrine regarding healing from?
We don't or shouldn't form all our doctrine from isolated verses, but rather from ALL scriptures. I looked up every scripture I could find in the bible about healing, and health.

Isaiah 53 talks about how Jesus carried our sins but it also tells us He carried our sicknesses. Then Matthew 8:17 proves Isaiah was talking about physical healing.

I took psychology back in the late '60's but I think someone went dumpster diving since then.
Depends on the type of psychology I guess

Cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behavioural therapy for example have helped many

I see nothing wrong with much of today's psychology which is science based

So you are saying, when God promises something in His word, it is only good for Americans? Sorry, I can't buy that.

Those types of therapies don't contradict what God says about us . They are about helping people with mental health or emotional problems change their thinking and deal with triggers

Okie Doke. Do you think that you're reading into the text with the whole "stoning to death" comment?
