Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

This word God is supposed to be JHVH. That is an evil thing by claiming that that name is not supposed to be pronounced. But, you cannot pronounce it without vowels. It is Jehovah as said to Moses. Some say YHWH or Yahweh or YHVH, Yehovah.

All throughout the Old Testament, people called upon the name of the LORD. The name of the LORD is JHVH or Jehovah.

Deprivation of good is evil and dieing you will die.

I've read in many other threads that God is not evil nor is it His will when evil occurs. Also read in posts He did not create evil. So what is evil and how did it get here? Here are some Bible verses that I see that support God created evil. Surely though they must mean something than what they appear to be saying. God created evil. God created nothing to hard to make. God created everything there is. So how did evil get into our world and how could God allow this when nothing is too hard for him? (wanted to hear what others have to say, for now I am convinced God created evil and it is the like God create light and dark, up and down, and sea and land, valley and mountain, male and female...good and evil, too. There are lots of scriptures that make statement regarding evil and running away from it, so I hope you don't post those. Also God created all living things, yet we are taught to run away from several animals because they will tear you apart. So is evil anything like the animals that God made that are harmful to others?

Isaiah:45

5I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
8Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord GOD! Behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and outstretched arm; and there is nothing too hard for Thee.
Ephesians 3:9
and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ,
For starters, I'd like to give my take on where evil comes from.... without God creating it.

God created mankind and mankind was good from the beginning. When mankind sinned, God separated himself from mankind and what was left was evil. God either not being present or leading mankind has left mankind to be evil. If you could imagine a space... If God's in it or leading it then it is good... However if God leaves that space or doesn't lead it... then it's evil.

I remember this somewhere and agreeing with it. It makes sense. Evil is the lack of God's presence or leadership of him. I've seen this argument in this video... its a fun watch. :)

About those verses, here's a post I made in another thread...

"I found a great article on that a few months ago...

https://carm.org/does-god-create-evil

The 2 things that this article mentions is the word evil, aka "rah" has many definitions just like other Hebrew words. Anyways, when you look at the verse in context.. you can see how the verse talks about things that are opposites. Light and dark are opposites.... However, peace and evil are not opposites. Good and evil would be opposites. So, the proper translation should be "unpeace" or disaster... conflict. If you look below at various different versions... the KJV has a mistranslation, but the rest follow through well enough.

New International Version
I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.

New Living Translation
I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things.

English Standard Version
I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.

New American Standard Bible
The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the LORD who does all these.

King James Bible
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

I don't think God does not do moral evil, but I can believe God can cause disaster. The verse also shows the theme of opposites and so naturally, evil should be translated as "unpeace." "

What do you think so far? Does that help? I think the response I made makes it plausible that God did not create evil and that verse you mentioned is a mistranslation.

I think of evil as selfishness. I think we created selfishness, didn't we?
