2Co_13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Why does Paul say 'examine yourselves' ?

The word reprobate means to be a castaway, or to be rejected.

I was reading 1 Corinthians 11 today and learned that when believers came together in the church, there were some that were partaking of bread and drinking of the cup of the Lord without discerning the Lord's body. 1 Corinthians 11: 23-34.

They were eating and drinking unworthily, bringing damnation on themselves.

Paul says in that verse above to those who might be in the same predicament.
There is a long list I have heard through the years of how people got saved and none of them were genuinely saved when compared to what Paul wrote as to what the real gospel is according to the scriptures.

God cannot lie, we have it written as Paul says ' according to the scriptures'

Paul met Christ and had received the gospel to give to us.
God in His mercy had come to this earth to die for our sins.

2Co_5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

God was in Christ !

The gospel you need to believe today is ' Christ died for our sins'....;

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The glorious gospel is glorious because it is about Christ and us, Him dying for our sins.

Can you find a better message on this planet?

Amen Brother! Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the sins of the world.

There is no greater message on earth!

1 Cor. 2:1-2

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
