Born again Christian, Nik Wallenda is about to walk a tightrope over Niagra falls. Live on ABC. He says he stays calm by talking to God through the walk and is not afraid. It will literally be a walk through the valley of the shadow of death, as he's doing it in the dark.

Live footage here:

Why would he want to do that? The Bible says not to tempt God.

The type of foolish fanaticism that gives Christians a bad rep.

Islamists believe blowing themselves up in a restaurant will get them closer to Allah.
Mr. Wallenda believes walking on a rope over waterfalls will get his faith closer to God.

Same level of stupidity, with just different means and ends.

Although I do agree as it is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God, ( Mat 4:7/Luk 4:12) could it be possible that the Lord might have used this man to let the millions of people watching the broadcast hear him praising Jesus and giving thanks to the Father?

I certainly wouldn't do it myself, but he's been training in tightrope walking since he was 2 years old and this was a challenge he set himself. Each to their own.

Everyone has different abilities. I'm a professionally trained dancer and I worship God in all that I do, whether it be dancing or something else. It's amazing giving your entire self to God :)

This guy has strong faith to set his eyes on God and have no fear. Walking through the valley... while the rest of America watches him saying praises to God as he did the walk. He must've reached out to a lot of people. He said he had no fear as he had the righteousness of Christ. How many would've searched to find out what he meant? They will want that themselves!

I know of a christian firefighter that went to get a tattoo. Yeah, I know God does not want us to ink our bodies. He got a tattoo of Daniel in the lion's den and it opened conversation with the tattooist about it. As a firefighter he was trusting in God to protect him just like Daniel did in the lion's den. I wonder if the tattooist was drawn to read about it in the bible? I hope he did :)

So I guess I'm foolish then ;) When I was born again one of the first things that disappeared was my fear of the dark. I now walk around my house in the dark happily and I think of God each time because I remember how freaked out I used to get. I have faith in God and no fear. He is my strength. That's in the bible too. I guess this makes me foolish in your eyes. But that is fine.

This man is born again, so he is saved, not doing this to be saved and at the same time everyone is watching his strong faith in God. How many want faith like him and how many turn to the bible to learn more about God and faith? Born again Christians let their light shine to the world!

A born again experience is life changing and it's an act of God. It's not stupidity. Islamists blow themselves up because they're not saved and think they have to do it to get close to "their God" (a good work of some kind for salvation). Catholics are exactly the same. They trust in their church and their works to try to get closer to God. It's exactly the same - a works based salvation, which is not biblical.

There is no stupidity in following God's word. Only when you ignore it can you be open to deceptions of the world, one of which is a works based salvation.

As Doobs said that non believers have done it as well. I know that he will more than likely make it because he is very good at it but, what if he accidentally fell?

IMHO, he being lead by the Spirit, cause like most others on here to me it seems stupid. But if this man has trained so long, it is nothing to him. We should all remember when one is lead by the Spirit, we can't tell whence he/she cometh or goeth. (John 3:8)
