For what it may be worth...

Read this webpage:

http://mywebsite.us/Truth.html

If you think that it may "appeal to their senses" and get them to thinking, pass it on to them.

I agree with @Live4Him3 that they need for something to challenge their science-based belief system - and get them to thinking about why they believe what they believe...

Do they believe in evolution?
Yes, a majority of them believe in evolution vs creation. I think they lean on science because it can be proven, seen, and fact-checked.I will check out the page you posted, thank you!

If they're scientifically minded you might try to find some books about the scientific evidence for God; there are some good ones out there. One that stands out to me is Lee Strobel's The Case For A Creator. It smashes a lot of the accepted theories of science. In particular it demonstrates that a lot of the ideas that "scientists" believe as fact are based on deliberate fabrications.

No matter how moral a person is they can never meet God's standard. You might look up scripture verses that point out that all are sinners and need salvation.

Jesus said a prophet is not without honor except in his home town and among his own relatives. Don't be surprised if they don't accept your faith. Just keep praying, maybe He'll reach them by some other means.
<3 Thank you for this, much appreciated.

I was in the same boat when I first started my walk with the Lord. My mom told me I could join in family gatherings if I "didn't talk about that God stuff". I told her I would not bring it up, but if someone else wanted to discuss God I was going to speak up. She was okay with that. And, of course, God took care of the rest and inevitably there would be a God discussion almost every time we got together.

Two of my sisters were open to God and one of them still actively studies her Bible, prays, goes to church (although since covid, she likes watching online more than going to church) ... the other one is nominal and did not stick with the daily study of Scripture and prayer, and she does not attend church. But I believe she is saved.

Another sister would discuss God and Scripture with me but I never really knew if she truly believed. She passed away about 5 years ago.

Another sister did not want to hear about God; she married a man who claims to be an atheist. If/when I see them or we talk on the phone, we usually end up talking about God. My sister says "if God wants me to know, He'll talk to me Himself". Her husband and I have discussions about God but he ends up denying truth and sticking to his firmly held atheistic beliefs.

As others have mentioned, we do not have to make our family members believe, we only have to speak God's Word to others. As workers together with God, our job is to plant/water and it is God Who brings increase. If we believe our job is to get others to believe, we may end up getting emotional (angry or bitter) when others reject God's Word. Just remember, they are not rejecting you ... they are rejecting God.

1 Corinthians 3:

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
.
I too, have been asked to keep 'that God stuff' to a minimum; and I replied much as you did. They know where I stand. It's really my 10 grandchildren that I have concern over. The adults have all been exposed to God and have made their sad choices,(for now) but the little ones have had almost no exposure in this godless world. If I were to tell them my beliefs without their parents consent I'd likely never see them again. I suppose I should just listen for the Lords quiet voice to let me know when and what to say in a way that will not slam the door to their possible salvation, and continue to pray until I hear his voice. I thank God for this forum where I can reach out and be reminded of and comforted by God's love. The churches in my area (very rural) are distant and very judgmental, so I rarely attend. I don't know any christians anymore, so I rely mainly on the Bible and quiet whispers in my heart. ... and now this forum. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

FYI: Scriptures

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:37-39 - Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Read More...)

1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 31:3 - The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Zephaniah 3:17 - The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

The most effective "witness" Christians have of God and His love for mankind is how Christians live their lives and how they treat others. By living a Christ like life, a Christian can show the world the evidence of Gods love, by "loving others." Remember that we are told to "love our enemies."

One can be an "example" of Gods love just by loving.......
Thank you for this reminder to not be so fearful of showing His love, and making sure they know it's not coming from me. I guess I need to be more patient and trust in God's Timeline.

Ask them if their mother loves them. If they say 'Yes', then ask them to prove it scientifically. ;)

Seriously, pray for them, that their eyes would be opened. Just keep being yourself and treating them as you would treat Jesus. You can't control their response, but the Lord will guide and reward you.
Hahaha!! Seriously, I will try this 'proof of mother's love'!!

I can find no scripture help in my dilemma, so hoping someone wiser can guide me. How does one show examples of God's love and Jesus's sacrifice to those who are without any sense of God's reality? I have many family members and people close to me who have zero concept of any sort of a 'higher power'. When I am being the me that God has his hand on, they either roll their eyes or cast their eyes down. I can't even broach the subject of a wonderful blessing I've received nor share the joy with these people I care so deeply for. They believe only in science, nothing spiritual. I pray for them constantly, and try hard to just 'be myself' around them. I'd love the opportunity to tell them what they are missing, but those ears are stopped up and I am not a confident 'preacher'. Any suggestions??
Go beyond your family and friends sense of justice, by showing the mercy of Christ in your conduct toward all,

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? Lk.6:32

It's incredible how our Lord loved people who did't love love him. My God let people see him in us.

They live moral lives and are honest people, but from a sense of 'it's the correct behavior in society' , not because of any sense of spirituality.
yep ... same with my situation. And sometimes that's something my brother in law brings up ... "I'm a good person" ... "I help others" ...

How do we explain that it's not a works issue, it's a faith issue? ... faith in the One Who has freed us from bondage to sin when they don't think they sin because "I'm a good person".

Thank you for this reminder!
That was also an argument/question made/asked in the movie "Contact" (<= link :))
Did you ever see it? For a long time, it was one of my faves, and I have watched it many
times: a 1997 American science fiction drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis, based on
the 1985 novel by Carl Sagan. Jodie Foster plays an atheist SETI scientist who finds evidence
of extraterrestrial life and is chosen to make first contact. Matthew McConaughey plays her
love interest, a voluntarily defrocked "man of the cloth" who challenges her ideas about
God. He poses the question to her in relation to her father :)

“Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:27-

all we can do is share what scripture says when you realize Christ fills the prophets and law it becomes a powerful witness for his truth but sadly some will not hear it

I'm sure you didn't mean for this to sound as if I love only my family and only those who love me. I have a big life. I expect no thanks or rewards. I only pray that people I love will come to share the joy of redemption. But, thank you for your input and suggestions... you made me think.

Hello BeALamp.
I agree with everything you've said here. Wanting all people to know our joy is what drew me to Christ, Christ in a dear sister who like you, wanted no thanks or rewards, but only for me to know her joy in Jesus.
God bless you and those who see him in you.

It seems wise to remember the Purpose of Christ, which is to give Spiritual Eyesight so that people may THEN become convinced of Spiritual matters. Without this Enabling process, no words would even convince the Pharisees, Sadducees, and teachers of the law.

John 9:39-41 NLT - "Then Jesus told him, "I entered this world to render judgment--to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind." Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, "Are you saying we're blind?" "If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see."

Instead of trying to convince a person of the Gospel, it is best to simply tell them about it.

Romans 10:14 NLT - "But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?"

The best thing that you can do is to read the Bible in a timeline, chronological order so that you can actually understand the Story of God, which happens to be the Gospel. Be careful to read and understand the entire Body of this remarkable book, doing your best to understand how and why every sentence is important.

To give you a headstart, I would read the Bible in the fashion mentioned above, and ask yourself if and how each story, and even passage, relates to the below Scripture:

Colossians 2:9-15 NLT - "For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. 11 When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross."

Once a person ACTUALLY understands the Gospel, it becomes easy to talk to others who do not believe. But when a person does not understand the Gospel, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible. And, perhaps this is why virtually no one has ever walked up to me to explain the Gospel . . . and perhaps this is why when a person enters into virtually any church, "you" will NEVER hear two people actually discuss the Gospel. They're too busy talking about what they'll be doing Thursday night, for example.

Read the Bible in a timeline, chronological order and let it change your life.

I appreciate the effort you put into this great reply; but merely sharing the gospel isn't the issue. It is the question of how to reach those who have absolutely zero sense of anything or Being greater than mankind... I've not found the answer in 40 years of study and was hoping someone here would have experience with the dilemma.

Apart from Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to truly live a moral life.

I would recommend using God's law to bring the knowledge of sin that they might truly see their need for a Savior.

What I mean is they have no sense of God or any sort of spirituality. The Pharisees believed in God. Even pagans have a sense of god(s). It's easier to change a viewpoint (from gods to God) than to instill a sense (some idea) of God from scratch.
