Faith in Jesus Christ does not take away the faithfulness of Christ going to the cross. (Romans 3:24-28) It's not about changing "OF" to "IN" as if "OF" is the concrete interpretation and "IN" is in error as if it changes Galatians 2:16 to mean something entirely different.

In Galatians 3:26 in the KJV, we read - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

In Ephesians 1:15 in the KJV, we read - Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints.

In Colossians 1:4 in the KJV, we read - Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints.

In 1 Timothy 1:14 in the KJV, we read - And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

In 2 Timothy 1:13 in the KJV, we read - Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

In 2 Timothy 3:15 in the KJV, we read - And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
I am not refuting that we have faith in Jesus Christ. I am refuting that our faith is Jesus Christ is the cause of our eternal deliverance. There is a deliverance (salvation) here in time by our faith in Jesus Christ, just not eternally. When we were regenerated, we are in Christ and he is in us, by his imputed righteousness.

Hi Luigi ,

Are you asking what Faith the noun is , pistis ? Or are you referring to the verb pisteuo ? Are you asking what Faith is , or how it's specifically applied to have Faith in Christ ?
Hello Pisteuo,
I am referring to the verb, as in the action of placing ones faith in something and thereby acting upon it.
Jesus believed in love, truth, justice, peace, and other qualities/actions, and went to the cross conveying His faith in these.
We too need to believe in Christs Way, His faith and actions in order to be freed from sin and justified in Him.

One thing to remember is that the whole human race are considered as having no faith, not little but none, zero .

Deuteronomy 32:19-21 King James Version (KJV) And when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

He must first give us His faith before we can believe Him. Once we have that exclusive faith coming from Him as our new faith then we can offer ours towards him as our Amen.

Those in Hebrew 6 as those who do crucify Christ over and over every time they deny Him in unbelief were offering what they called faith towards Him . as dead works. The faith of God as the work of God works towards us .Not of or from us.

Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, so that those of us who wanted could repent and change direction away from sinning toward the Lords Way (love, truth, justice, peace, etc.)
We are delivered away from death for our sins, when we believe in Christs belief (His gospel), of love, truth, justice, peace, which logically ultimately leads one away from sin.
When Christ died on the cross, he paid for all of the sins of those that he died for, which were only those that his Father gave him, and he washed all of their sins away, past present and future sins. All that he died for will live in heaven without the loss of even one. Even those he died for will still sin as they live in this world, but none of those sins will keep them out of heaven. The person who is not a child of God will never repent of a spiritual law that he cannot discern (1 Cor 2:14). The child of God repents when he feels guilt, but he never loses his security in heaven. When he repents, he is delivered (saved) here in time, not in heaven, he already has heaven promised to him by Christ's finished work on the cross. When we repent, we are delivered away from "death" which is not a literal death, but a separation from God's fellowship.

Christ did not cannot die he gave His Spirit life as a living sacrifice. The temporal body that did not see corruption or age for three days demonstrated spirt life was given, as if it was blood.

I think what you are trying to get at is your being justified while you are still sinning, and thus not believing sufficiently in Christs Way of love, truth, faith, justice, and peace, in order to keep you from sinning now and in the near future. I also am in this current lack of faith position. I, however, know that I am currently not justified due to my lack of faith in Christs Way.
Nevertheless, I hope while striving against myself to attain to a greater faith in Christ's faith, so that I will be justified, and born again, where I no longer sin (1 John 3:9).
I acknowledge the truth, and it will set me free.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

You were asking whether I was referring to the noun faith, or the verb faith.
Was yours not a baited question for an ulterior motive?
Once again I repeat, I provided my definition for what faith in/on Christ truly represents; can you now provide us with your noun or verb definition for what true faith in/on Christ represents... , as this is the topic in the OP?

It's one thing not knowing the truth and promoting what you " faithe in " unknowingly . It's another to have heard the truth , reject it , then continue to promote what you know can't be the truth . Do I need to spell that out for you also ?

I really thought you were legit !

Luigi, You are justified. Christ accomplished that on the cross. If you truly believe that there is a spiritual God, it is evidence that you can discern spiritual things and have been born again through regeneration and given the Holy Spirit. Christ also secured your home in heaven and nothing can take that away from you.

Hello ForestGreenCook,
If I sin, which I do now and then, I then do not deceive myself by claiming to be born again, as scripture clearly indicates the born again in God are incapable of sinning.
Likewise, if I see that I continue to sin because I do not have the faith of Christ in love, truth, justice, peace, etc., which would prevent me from sinning, I then realize that I am currently not justified in my present imperfect condition.
Remember the scripture that says Christs disciples will do the works/miracles Christ did, and even greater works/miracles?
Where are these greater works/miracles?
One excuse is how these miracles were meant for the first century and thus do not apply today.
This excuse, however, denies the Word, and as such I do not accept it.
I stick to the Word (the truth), which if I continue to increase in the faith of Christ, will eventually set me free.
I will not be free, however, if I deny the Word(the truth), by making excuses about the Word in order to feel good about myself in my present imperfect condition.

God said that Christ's sacrifice on the cross made you holy and without blame. God also said that the sins of those that Christ died for are as far away from him as the east is from the west, and he remembers them no more. As far as eternity is concerned, even though you still commit sins, Christ has paid for them, and none of the sins that you commit will keep you out of heaven. You can think what you want to about yourself but it does not change the truth of God's word.

First and foremost faith is a work directly called a "work of faith" or "labor of love". No separation form faith and works. it is all one declaration

Secondly before we were born again we had "no faith" as a froward people(Deuteronomy 32:20) and not little faith but absolutely none.

We are informed in Roman 3 that no one understands, no one seeks after God, or could they unless he first give us the faith that works in us to both will and perform His good pleasure. It alone comes from hearing God through his word and therefore person could not seek after him who remains invisible .We are not born with his understanding .Making it impossible that without His faith working in us we could please God .

When in the garden of Eden the object of our unseen faith was given over to the things seen. Mankind was left without any faith , but because God courted the whole creation as in dying death will occur the three avenues (1 John 2:16) of the fathers of lies became the new god.

1 John 2:16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

We are not saved by the imaginations of our own heart as a work of our imagination. Many seem to take that avenue of pride and call it self edification.

Two things to keep in mind. Faith is a work and we born without faith zreo. The moment a person tries to accredit faith coming from their own heart, the seat of their own imagination they fall from the grace that could of been theirs if they would of believed God' word

The difference between your perspective ForestGreenCook as to how the Lord cleanses us from our sins is that you see it as an immediate act upon accepting the Lord having died for your sins while you continue to sin; whereas I see it as the Lord having died for my sins should I ultimately choose believing/faithing in Him, and His Way of love, truth, justice, etc., upon which fully believing will prevent me from sinning, and thus being born again spiritually.
My perspective lines up with all the scriptures which indicate many who now believe in Christs faith of love, peace, truth, and justice, will ultimately turn away from Christ's faith/way.
As such, you are also partially correct, in that there will be current OSAS believers who continue to believe in Christ's faith unto their end; upon whom Christ will then have died for them.

Accepting the Lord has nothing to do with determining your eternal salvation, that would be eternal salvation by the works of man, which is wrong, it is eternal salvation by God's grace. You need to post scriptures to support your statements.
