My oldest daughter expects that her 2 yr old son will mis-behave and act up. So when he is around her he mis-behaves and acts up.

I expect my grandson to behave and act right. So when he is around me he behaves and acts right.

That is how faith is. Faith is expectation.

I have faith that when I pray the Lord answers. I expect Him to. I expect Him to do exceedingly, abundantly more than I think or ask. Because His Word says so.

Our expectations permeate everything in our lives. They influence our language and the way we talk. They influence the people and conditions that surround us.

Even scientists studying atoms say that electrons traveling around the nucleus appear where they expect them to.

Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Faith is an awesome thing.

Heb 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Let's remember that we are fighting the good fight of faith. We're running in a race to receive a crown.

1Tim 6:12-14
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession (confess Jesus, Rom 10:9) in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment (to believe on Jesus) without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,

Eph. 1:18-19
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

I've always loved how God looks at us and calls us His children and loves us unconditionally. Then He asks us to live up to His love by faith. Have faith that He does love us this way and live in that love and embrace it. I only hope I can do the same for my children.

The other terrible side is the bad parent or bad God who would say: "Do all that I ask of you and you may live up to being my child." This is how some religions approach God. Thank you God my Father that I found the truth and can call you Abba, Daddy, the One who loves me.

Romans 3:22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 .) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 .) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 .) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 .) To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 .) Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 .) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

The "enemy" is real!!! Faith must be renewed each and every day! This is spiritual warfare! Don't take off your armor!(Ephesians 6:10-13) 10 Finally, go on acquiring power in [the] Lord and in the mightiness of his strength. 11 Put on the complete suit of armor from God that YOU may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Devil; 12 because we have a wrestling, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places. 13 On this account take up the complete suit of armor from God, that YOU may be able to resist in the wicked day and, after YOU have done all things thoroughly, to stand firm.

(1 Timothy 1:18-20) 1This mandate I commit to you, child, Timothy, in accord with the predictions that led directly on to you, that by these you may go on waging the fine warfare; 19holding faith and a good conscience, which some have thrust aside and have experienced shipwreck concerning [their] faith. 20Hy·me·nae′us and Alexander belong to these, and I have handed them over to Satan that they may be taught by discipline not to blaspheme.

I like how you brought up that we are in a war, spiritually.

You can see faith attacked everywhere. Or rather, faith is not attacked, but suggestions for you to have a faith in something other than the Lord Jesus Chris.

Most everywhere I look I see people being controlled by fear, or attempting to use fear to control. This is in direct contrast to faith in the Lord. Jesus says He doesn't give us a spirit of fear. So this fear or attempt at fear is not coming from Him.

I have faith that the Lord Jesus has blessed me. I have faith that the Lord Jesus continues to bless me. Since He is for me, who or what can come against Him?

No one can stand up against God. But we can fall prey (for a time) to suggestions of the enemy when we stop and set down our shield of faith or take off our helmet of salvation.

How do we renew our faith? How do we put our helmet back on and pick our shield of faith back up? By the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. By reading His Word. By praying. By increasing in the Knowledge and Revelation of the Salvation given to us by Jesus.

Almost everything in the world tries to come against this knowledge and revelation of Christ. Its the counterfeit. Its the bad trade. There is a good trade that you can make, everyday, by faith.

Matthew 11:28-30
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

There is a trade there. Do you see it? You who labor and are heavily laden, by SIN, can trade that for the rest that the Lord Jesus Christ can give, by His Love for you, His People.

We all have some amount of labor (works of self-righteousness) and sin that can pile up in our lives that we require help to take back off of us. We all have some area in our lives of unbelief or undeseverdness (that may not be a word...) of our Lords Salvation. Great, Mighty Salvation.

Salvation is a miracle. Not everyone has faith in miracles... Too bad for them. Miracles are awesome!!!
