Lately I've heard a lot about 'Fall into the Holy Spirit'.
During the worship people fall on the ground, don't move anymore and are quiet.
What do you think, is this something from God?
Do you have any experience with it?
It seems quite scary to me.

God Bless

could be from God... I think Saul does something like it... I could find the part in the bible if you want...

imo, everything in a church service should point to Jesus... I suppose it could include falling into the spirit... sounds the same as what we called 'slain in the spirit' when I was growing up... it can also be misused, though...

I think the best indicator of whether it is from God is whether there is human prompting associated with it.

If the Holy Spirit is doing this He doesn't need people's help to make it happen.

If people are prompting others to do this; then it is a safe assumption that it is from man.

Ask someone who has had this happen if they were scared - and you will always hear "not at all".. They will tell you that they felt more peaceful than they ever experienced before. And they became more aware of the presence of the Lord with them when they rested in the Spirit.

No one can judge whether this is real until it happens to them.

"Lately" meaning you won't find it in the Bible. Years ago, people would fall backwards. I saw Benny Hinn wave his hand over an assembly of thousands, hoping they would fall in a wave. Only a handful of people fell back. He then started waving his coat over the same audience. Didn't work. Then he blew air toward that multitude. Nope. Didn't work.
Hey, in thinking about it, Benny went from "Smell my armpit" to "Smell ???" to "Now smell my breath."

Some folks used to say they were slain in the Spirit. I don't hear that anymore. Guess the Spirit doesn't slay believers like He used to.

If we are confident that we have received the Holy Spirit then why do we have to have a lot of confusion?
