One of my favorite Scriptures, hands down is Numbers 12:3, Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth. Especially since Numbers was written by Moses....lol

I DO NOT think this is false humility, but I could not resist making to post just because the Scripture is so funny... SO GREAT!!!!

Proverbs 29:23
A man’s pride will bring him low,
But a humble spirit will obtain honor.

When we're proud in our humility, that's a false humility. Think of the Pharisee's. They loved to show how humble they were when they tithed, when they prayed and when they fasted, etc.

When your right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, that's true humility.

Of course if he were inspired to write that; his humility would have been overridden by higher authority.

Sharing my thoughts on this question.... False Humility - happens when you become proud and wants to show off to other people that you are doing something good. The examples in the Bible are about giving to the needy, praying and/or fasting.

Here you would see how the Pharisees would do good works in public to be recognized and acknowledged by the people.

Giving - Matthew 6:1“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Praying - Matthew 6:5“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Fasting - Matthew 6:16
“And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

At the same time using these examples GOD stated how it should be done, in secret with humility.

Giving - Matthew 6:2-4“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Praying - Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Fasting - Matthew 6:17-18
But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
