V
I give to you my brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, on the subject of false doctrine that I ask for you to discern,
Many use Ephesians 2:8-9 to say you don’t have to do anything for our Father because Paul tells our brothers in Ephesus “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
I will say yes we are saved by his grace, and his grace alone!
However, if you read on in Ephesians 2:10 he continues to say we are created for good works which God our Father prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Now I plead with you to consider;
In 1John 3:16-23 verse 18, my little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. Verse 19, and by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
In James2:14- 26 James the brother of Jesus tells us faith without works is dead, but he also gives us two types of examples. The first type we come across in a day to day basis when he talks about a brother or sister in need in verse 15-16. The second type comes as a direct command from our Father as he mentioned in verse 21 when he talks about Abraham offering Isaac on the altar.
(I would say the same could be said for the prophets. Would they not also be justified by works as Abraham was? Would Paul and all of the other apostles not be justified by works as well?)
Then in the parable in Matthew 25:14-30 the servant that received the one talent in 24-30 went and hid his Lords talent. Now in verse 26 You wicked and lazy servant you knew I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. In verse 29 He said to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. Verse 30 he is cast out, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 7:13-14 tells us enter by the narrow gate. As well as narrow is the gate and difficult is the way
Matthew 7:21-23 tells us he who does (verb) the will of my father in heaven.
Matthew 7:24 whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does (verb) them, I will liken him to a wise man.
If one is to feel in their heart that being blessed with the opportunity to serve our great and mighty Father and his son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who came down in the flesh is not worth doing because Paul (who speaks truth) tells us not of works lest we boast I pray they ask where that comes from, I pray their eyes open, I pray their heart understand.
I ask you my brothers and sisters in Christ our Lord, which is a false teaching;
1: Don’t worry you do not have to really turn to our Father, just believe him. You do not have to do anything to serve and glorify our mighty Father and our fellow Brothers and sisters, live however you want, Conform to the world.
2: turn to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who came down in the flesh. Turn to our Father, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob! Turn to our Father and you will see His works that He prepared for you beforehand that you should walk in them. Seek, and you shall find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
I pray all my brothers and sisters see and hear. For my heart breaks and tears come to my eyes from the thought of any of them standing before our Loving Lord and he tell them I never knew you, you who practice lawlessness/ye that work iniquity
