I believe that it is extremely important for us as Christians to respect, love, and feel compassion for people of different faiths, world views, opinions, and etc. When we hate people who are different from us and think differently from us, we are moving them as far away from Christ as possible. They begin to hate all Christians and of course they begin to hate Jesus.

By trying to understand and love and feel compassion for Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Homosexuals, and etc. they will see the love of Christ in our actions and eventually they will come around. They will see that their worldview lacks the same love and understanding of all people regardless of who or what they are. Only Jesus can do that. Jesus loved everyone unconditionally. God loves everyone unconditionally. We must do the same.

Remember, I am not talking about loving sin. I am talking about loving people. There is a difference.

Recently I had a few fellow Christian friends show lack of compassion and direct hatred towards people with a different worldview. It made me sick and angry. My friends don't realize that they are driving these people as far away from Christ as they possibly can. Whatever chance there was that these people will accept Christ has just been decreased significantly.

I think this is very important and we as Christians have to remember it. It is the very core of apologetics and I live by it.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answera to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
-Peter 1, 3:15.

We out to be compassionate yet without compromise. The Gospel message sugar coated makes it no less palatable
to the natural man.

1 Corinthians 1:18-24 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

As prophesied.

"Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries."

While i can certainly relate to being hated, most of the hate is just envy. God has great favor on those whom others show hatred towards.... from Nelson Mandella, Job, David, Joseph, etc...
