I’ve come to the realization that I don’t want to live on my own in this crazy world. I want to live in My Father’s House and be under His rules and care. So, with every financial increase I earn I give cheerfully 10% to the Kingdom of God in the Earth as “rent” to Him.

Guess what!!! My money bag doesn’t have a hole anymore and I think I may need to get a bigger bag because I seem to be increasing! Lol!

I definitely recommend tithing 10%! It totally freaks out the flesh, but is amazing fun for the spirit!! Go for it! I dare ya! ;)(y)

So what you're trying to tell me is that because you give money to your church, your car has fewer issues with it?

Do you think it would work if I went out and fed the homeless?

(You're talking about an offering btw, not a tithe).

What I said, is what I said - not what you think I said.

I’m extremely cheerful when I give Daddy His rent money and He seems to have sewn up all the holes in my money bag.

I love living in my Father’s House - there’s always food, clothing, shelter, protection, safety, comfort, love, laughter, family, friends, healing, support, encouragement.....

I actually think I’m getting off pretty cheap for only 10% rent.

Look, it’s NEVER been about the money - it really already belongs to Him and He can come and take from us whenever He wants.

You ask, Do you think it would work if I went out and fed the homeless?

It’s not about “works.” It’s about a choice........where do you want to live while you are on this Earth?

I choose to live in my Father’s House with Him on this Earth - under His rules, love and care.

It’s very nice. I shall never move. :love:

I’ve read the whole of lev 27, which appears to be on a special type of tithes and those can have some kind of redeeming, but it doesn’t seem to be about giving to churches or treasury’s per say.

I'm afraid this seems like an emotional appeal mixed with metaphor, which I'm afraid I don't respond to.

Do you think if I spent my money on doing good in Good name (for example feeding the homeless), this would have the same effect as giving money to a Church?

You are thinking Malachi 3 which should not be used when you are under Grace. God does not operate like a mafia where if you don't pay protection money, you will find more medical, car bills etc.

I didn't ask a question about choice.

This isn't aimed at you or anything, but if there's one thing that put me off becoming a Christian earlier in life, and puts me off integrating with Christians now in real life, it's that you can't get a straight answer to a straight question.

Hey you finally spoke to me I feel jubilant indeed, :) no sir you didn’t but she said not works but choice to the feeding homeless question you ask a couple times already.

since you are here was is the redeeming a tithe in lev 27 do you know?

Sorry, you didn't quote me before and so I didn't know you were talking to me specifically or asking a question to the thread generally 🙂

I asked if feeding the homeless had the same effect as giving money to Church.

I may be wrong here but I think that the redeeming a tithe thing is about if any of the tithe (which no longer applies) is withheld, you would then owe more.
So if a tithe of 50 bales of hay were due, but you only tithed 30, you would still owe the remaining 20 plus one fifth of what was remaining.
Thus, you would owe 24.

I thought I did in the beginning some where, anyhow here’s a verse from 27 it appears that it is up to the owner to redeem.

13If, however, the owner decides to redeem the animal, he must add a fifth to its value.

Honestly I can’t wrap my head around any of lev 27

If you are a follower of Kenneth Copeland, he believes that when you feed the homeless, its like a lending to God and he will repay you the exact same amount. He used

Proverbs 19:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

But there is no multiplication. You will get exactly what you gave.

Wheres if you give to the church, it will be multiplied, that is the difference.

29No person set apart for destructionl may be ransomed; he must surely be put to death.

Why is that?
Where is the evidence?

So God would rather I cover bills in a building than go out and feed the homeless?

My gut feeling is that the God who made the Earth, heavens, stars and the universe would not be like that.

That’s interesting do people really give for expectations of receiving, hmm as for me if a help someone I don’t want anything in return I’m happy just to see them happy that’s enough reward for me.

There are many different views about financial stewardship and giving. Its really up to each individual Christian to decide for himself what to believe in.

God loves a cheerful giver and let every man purpose in his own heart what he wants to give.
