To make such a big deal of a diet is not right!! It is not what is used by God to see our hearts, God looks at our hearts. It would be wrong to say that God looks at our diet separate from our hearts.

We are allowed to use diet as something to remind us of cleanliness, your are not allowed to fuss at people for doing so. We are even allowed to say that there is a chance that God does not look at scavenger animals as food for us. No one is allowed to say that our salvation is through diet. It is you who is saying that, you are saying our salvation is through eating what you prescribe for people to eat. It is not.

If someone uses cleanliness in food to symbolize spiritual cleanliness, they are allowed to do that by the Lord. If it is being unclean to eat scavenger food, that is also allowed.

You need to get your mind off the rituals and legalism and onto God.

Elin in is right! RedTent would never say this. She believes in keeping the Law!

Where is RedTent?? Someone has hacked her account!

Malachi 3:6 "[SUP]6 [/SUP]For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."

God says that He does not change. Why are we, as His people, saying otherwise? Which LORD do we serve? We can post all kinds of things on here about what science says, or how a family member lived a long time even while eating unclean food, or even manipulate what Jesus says in the Gospels. This does not change the fact that what was once unclean remains unclean because the LORD says so and He does not change for science, one of our family members or those who misapply Scripture. Amen.

that is such a bad twisting of that verse.

God does not change. absolutely true.

However, ever heard of the NEW covenant?

God changes His relationship with His people.

For example the fact you are man will never change, but the fact you are married or single might.

Therefore the changes in the food laws does not mean GOD changes, just His laws about what we can and can't eat.

I apologize in advance if this it too gross.....

But would feces fit into this scenario? Is that now and lean and acceptable to eat if we give thanks for it?

(Again, I apologize if it's gross, just trying to make a point.)
Ezekiel 4
12 And you shall eat it as barley cakes; and bake it using fuel of human waste in their sight.”

In hopes Chicken McNuggets would have never been invented.
That's funny...because I often think of McDonalds when I think of animals sacrificed to idols (Money). Yeah, I know they are not the only ones, but they would be close to the top of the list, imo.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Ezekiel 11:17-21 "Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God."

Ezekiel 36:22-36 "Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it."

Hebrews 8:10-12 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: and they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

Hebrews 10:15-16 "Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;"

That is the only Biblical definition of the New Covenant. Tell me, what statutes, judgements and laws would the LORD being attempting to write upon our mind and heart? We know what foreshadowed Christ; tell me how the Dietary Law foreshadowed His priestly ministry. Using your metaphor, while the man may be single or married, him being a man is still not negated by his relationship status.

God Bless
