Someone disagreeing with the positive acceptance of homosexuality doesn't make one homophobic. It makes one honest in where they stand as well as God's Word. One of the biggest lies in society is that if you don't agree with someone or their lifestyle then you hate them and that's just not true.
"Homo-phobe" was created by those who support homosexuality.

The real term is pervo-aversion (Ro 1:27).

I will not pretend they are not perverts! That said their sin is not more or less than someone gambling, or cheating on their wife, it just may be more harmful. I remember going to the department store with my mother and saw an undeniable gay couple. Back then no one was "out of the closet" then and it was shameful back then.
Yeah, if I recall, that term 'out of the closet' came in vogue around '67 or '68 and you would have been around 18, 19 , even then in the police text books any act of sodomy was punishable by law. I guess that's what you call "progress"

Actually, Scripture does not call gambling or cheating an "abomination," as it does the practice of homosexuality.

All sin is not equal.

Mark has something to say to you Mark 12:31 - And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Jesus said this about homosexuality:

[6] But from the beginning of creation, `God made them male and female.'
[7] `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
[8] and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. Mark 10:6-8 RSV

You don’t win debates by insulting people with derogatory names, such as "homophobe."
