But but but...Stilly...I'm offended.

Just kidding. These are good materials to read. I used to be an extreme preterist. And then, well, I went to Bible School.

Re: Free Preterist commentaries on Revelation.

Some Christians are intelligent. That's why.
FWIW, though, I don't believe the book of Revelation has anything to do with the destruction of Jerusalem, as some of these writings indicate.

Mat 24:11 "Then many false profits will rise up and deceive many."
2 Thes 2:3 "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed (The Anti-Christ), the son of perdition."

Gen 3:1 "Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made."

Dear Fellow Christians, I used to be a Baptist and my dad was a preacher for 18 years. I grew up being taught and believing in the Pre-Trib Rapture. But it is a lie, just as the Preterits view is a lie. The Bible was completed when John finished Revelation. If a doctrine is not clearly taught in the Bible, it likely is false and of Satan. Do any of us feel that Satan would not attempt to deceive believers, especially as the end times approach? Of course he would and his deceptions would be most clever and do maximum harm.

Rev 22:18-19 NKJV "...If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life..." So, let’s not add a doctrine that is not in the Bible, such as the Pre Trib Rapture notion.

We have NOT entered the Tribulation which starts with the opening of the 6th seal Rev 6:16-17 "...And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb." There is NO period in history that even comes close to the things told in Revelation and certainly not in a 7 or 3.5 year span. There has NOT been a 1,000 year millennial reign of Christ, where the first to be resurrected (...the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received His mark on their foreheads or on their hands. - Rev 20:4) lived and reigned with Christ. Over these martyred, the second death has no power. I haven't seen or heard of any human in our era living more than 150 years, let alone 1,000.

My fellow Christians, the Bible does not teach a pre- tribulation rapture.

There is not one verse or passage that teaches these essential Pre-Trib views:

1. Two separate "Second" coming events. (Whenever the coming of the Lord is mentioned, it is always AFTER the tribulation or the timing isn't mentioned.
2. Jesus coming BEFORE the Tribulation.
3. The church in heaven BEFORE or DURING the Tribulation.
4. Proof that the saints on earth during the tribulation were converted after the Rapture and not original believers.
These 4 facts are critical to the Pre Trib Rapture view and NONE are taught in the scriptures. Pre-Tribbers rely on contorting the Word, taking things out of context, combining facts from one passage with another – to support their view. This is exactly the way Satan deceives.

The Preterist view is wrong because none of the prophetic things written by John in Revelation could have happened in AD 70 which John wrote Revelation around 25 years later, otherwise they wouldn’t be prophetic. Granted there are some similarities with Nero and the Anti-Christ and severe persecution of the church during those days but not on the scale seen in Revelation.

Satan is very cunning. He deceived Adam and Eve who actually knew and walked with God. He even tried to deceive Jesus himself, thinking he could. So, it isn't hard to think Satan could easily deceive some great men of God into believing that the end time Church won't go through the Tribulation. This is why I am no longer a Baptist and am non-denominational. Teaching these LIES and FALSE DOCTRINES are just as dangerous to Christians as EVOLUTION is to the world. Interesting, many of these lies began around the same time as evolution in the 1800s.

The best Satan lie is the one that contains truth and is very appealing. Skipping the Tribulation, if you are a Christian - or anybody for that matter - has mass appeal. WHY is this lie a big deal?? Because Satan will cause the majority of Christians to quickly lose faith in the true Messiah when the Tribulation starts and they find themselves still here. They will quickly lose faith and turn against other Christians.
We are taught that the Anti-Christ will deceive many. It sure would be easy for Satan to deceive Christians and convince them that he is the Christ when these Christians were taught and believed in a rapture their whole lives but the rapture doesn’t come. Suddenly these weak Christians (who will be many) find themselves in the Tribulation with no Rapture. They did NOT “Watch” and did NOT prepare. These Christians then need to take the mark or not eat being told that everything they believed as Christians were lies.
Then they see the Beast and Anti-Christ doing his miracles and wonders. Further we are taught that there is a "FALLING AWAY" comes first.

If Jesus came before the Tribulation who is left to FALL AWAY? If Jesus comes before the Tribulation the even itself would be so monumental and glorious that it would not only take away the glory of his later coming, it would cause so many people to believe in him that the anti-Christ would have a hard time finding people to deceive. And if Jesus came before the tribulation, all would kneel down and worship Him and declare Him Lord as they do when He really comes.

Hebrew marriage ceremony:

  1. betrothal / engagement = 2 Cor 11:2, whilst details are worked out in the "delay" = Matt 25:5
  2. arrival of Groom = Second Coming = Rev 19
  3. Groom takes Bride to his home = Rapture = 1 Thess 4
  4. marriage meal = Rev 19:9,17
  5. Millennium = Rev 20

  • early Christians were "betrothed" (or "engaged") to the Church, awaiting the 2C
  • "delay" = 1st - 4th centuries AD
  • 2C = Word-warrior (Rev 19), who had a secret name = "Constantine", not known for centuries, from when Revelation was written
  • meal (Gk. deipnon) = "marriage meal" (Rev 19:9) = "battle-field carnage of Beast's defeat" (Rev 19:17) = Milvian Bridge in 311 AD
  • Christian Davidic Millennium = Byzantine empire from 5th-15th centuries AD

Interpreting Revelation 20, exclusively as a Judeo-Christian (OT-NT) Scripture:

"number" (Gk. arithmos) of "Bad Guys" (Gog & Magog) = "sand of the sea" (Gk. ammos thalassa)
= Rom 9, Heb 11 = "children of Isaac, son of Abraham, by whom Abraham's descendants are reckoned"

  • Satan "leads astray" Gog & Magog, after the Millennium
  • ergo, they had not been astray, during the Millennium
  • ergo, they had been (true) Christians
  • they are "gentiles" (Gk. ethnikos)
  • they dwelt in "the land" (Gk. ge) = Holy Land = Promised Land = Davidic Kingdom = Millennium
    • ge = land = Israel = Byzantine empire
    • agapao polis = beloved city = Orthodox Church + Constantinople
  • mis-led, they attack "the camp of the Holy Saints, the Beloved City" = New Jerusalem = (true) Church = Orthodox
  • they are "sand of the sea" = (previously) spiritual children of Isaac = True Israel = Church = Orthodox

Rev 20 predicted, that Satan would entice gentile Christians, from the Orthodox Church, of Constantinople & Constantine, into apostasy & heresy. Then, they would turn around, and attack the Church =

  • Roman schism of 1054 AD, betraying Byzantines to advancing Turks
  • 4th Crusade of 1204 AD, conquering Constantinople
  • anti-Orthodox conquest of Russia, in 1917 AD

No (?) part of the Orthodox Church was ever not conquered, to date, suggesting that the present is the eve of the arrival of the "Mighty White Throne" (Gk. megas leukos thronos ) = Rev 20:9b, estimated to arrive "Biblically imminently", perhaps within the next 500 years, plausibly sooner vs. later.

Rev 1-19 = flesh = "Babylon" city in "the land" = physical Jerusalem in physical Canaan
Rev 20-22 = spirit = "beloved City" in "the land" = spiritual New Jerusalem in spiritual Promised Land = Church in Millennium

Jesus = Passover sacrifice for spiritual "Exodus" from spiritual "Egypt" = Jerusalem (Rev 11)
"Egypt" = Jerusalem destroyed in 70 AD = spiritual "10 Plagues"
"Wilderness Wandering" = "delay" (Matt 25) = 1st-4th centuries AD (Rev 19, after fall of "Babylon", to emergence of Word-warrior)
"Promised Land" = Millennium (Rev 20)
-----------------------------------------------
spiritual "Canaan" = Millennium = Prophesied Davidic Kingdom 2 = Byzantine empire

So, in Rev 20, "gentiles" in "land" led-astray vs. "beloved City" = (gentile) Christians in Christian(ized) Roman empire apostasizing from (Orthodox) Church

1 John 2-3 states that the 2C had not yet occurred

1 John ~ 80-90 AD, decade(s) after the fall of Jerusalem

ergo the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD was NOT the 2C = Constantine

Les Brittingham's Revelation Unveiled is very valuable for some of these references

spiritual "beloved City" = New Jerusalem = Church
spiritual Word-warrior = 2C

physical reflection of Church = Constantinople
physical reflection of Word-warrior = Constantine

cp. Heb 8:5, "things on earth are copy & shadow of heavenly" (such would presumably also be true about 1453 AD)
