Just thought I would start a thread on genealogy. Do you know your ancestry? How far back can you take it?
Though long and arduos reading I found the genealogy of Jesus to be quite Amazing as it is written in the bible probably the best known lineage in the world actually.

I owe my distant cousins in the Utah area a great debt of gratitude as they are mormons and put a high value (I'm not sure why) on genealogy. So a lot of leg work has been done for me. Lucky me!

Post your thoughts on this topic and lets see where this goes.

Thanks

So they can baptize someone who is alive in the name of the dead.

My ancestory is a mixture of the British Isles, and Swiss German.

My mom and several of my aunts are big on genealogy, and have gone as far back as William Wallace (you know, the man 'Braveheart' is based on). Which means we're a good percentage Scottish, but also Irish and a small part Cherokee Indian.

When people ask me what nationality I am I never know what to answer!

My Dad was born in Singapore.
His dad (my grandfather) had an English Father and a Malaysian Mother

My Dad's mother (my grandmother) was born in Indonesia
Her mother was Spanish and her Father Dutch

That family lived in Singapore, Borneo and then moved to Australia. They spoke dutch, Malay, Indonesian and English

My Mother Born in Australia
Her Mother (my grandmother) Born in Egypt, but with Maltese blood & 1/4 Italian.
Her Father (my grandfather) born in Egypt, his father Maltese and ancestors French

traced right back to Marie Antionette, the french queen who got her head chopped off.

That family fled Egypt during the 2nd world War, and came to Australia. They spoke fluent French, Maltese, Arabic, Italian, Greek & English

I was born in Australia. I am white in winter and dark in summer. My whole immediate family has the same green eyes, and so does my husband and three children. If I had to choose between pasta, lentils and asian food, I would go with the asian food any day! Curry...Yumm.
I am a mongrel! but I identify myself as a christian.;)
Heh this feels weired talking about my clan and not the scriptures. Better stop there!
