This is something I’ve thought about too. If God created all things, then time itself wasn’t a limitation for Him. When He made the heavens and the earth, the timeline we try to measure things by wouldn’t have mattered to Him the same way it does to us.

Take Adam, for example: when God created him, he wasn’t a baby that had to grow up. He was fully formed from the start. The same could be said for creation itself. If God made a tree and wanted it to be 5 million years old, He could have created it with that age already built in. Just because something appears old to us doesn’t mean it wasn’t created in an instant.

Carbon dating, or any other method of measuring time, assumes a natural process over time, but if God created the world with maturity:- mountains already towering, rivers already flowing, forests already grown, then what we perceive as ‘millions of years’ could have been put in place immediately. It doesn’t mean the science is wrong, but it does mean we’re measuring something from within time that was made by a God outside of time.

So whether it was six literal days, long ages, or something else entirely, what matters is that He made it, and time was never a barrier to His creation. The details of how He did it? That’s part of the mystery we get to explore
Welcome here and
thank you, seeing. this perspective too, as when John the Baptist, said to the Pharisees, So we work of repentance. God can make these rocks an Israelite. Wow!!!!!!!!!!
God can do anything God decides and I see God always chooses the best for each of us. Sometimes the might be rebuke also.
Again welcome here

When God is creating the heavens and earth, I assume his days are much longer than ours. Has anyone figured out how long they were in our time?

Did he create the dinosaurs first and they evolved into the animals we know now? Was Adam a caveman? It seems that period of time is missing unless it is combined and not mentioned in any detail.

Thanks for any information about this.
This is a tough subject as it is never taught. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God doesn't give us a timeframe for when this happened but science says the earth is millions of years old. This was the first world age when the dinosaurs and other creatures also roamed the earth. You don't find human remains during this time frame because man was made in spiritual bodies, not flesh. That first world age passed away because Lucifer rebelled against God and led a third of God's children astray, Isa 14:12-16. For this reason God destroyed that world age with a world wide flood and everything was destroyed and the earth became without form and void, Jer 4:22-27, II Pet 3:5.

God then brought the earth back to life in this second world age which we now live in and created man in the flesh. Man was created as a man, he didn't evolve from an ape's skull or tad pole, as commonly taught. It took six days for this recreation, Gen 1:1-31 but a day with the Lord is as a thousand years so it took 6,000 years to complete, II Pet 3:8. It is God's plan in this earth age to bring forth salvation through Jesus Christ for all that believe upon him, even those that were deceived and followed Lucifer in that first world age that was destroyed.

Rev 12:7-9 says Satan will be thrown down from heaven and will come to earth claiming to be God. This will test God's children to see if they studied his word to know that Satan would come first, before Jesus, claiming to be God, II Thes 2:3-4. People will choose either to follow Satan or stand against Satan and follow the true God. Those that follow God will enter into eternal life in the third world age that is yet to come. This present age will pass away after the White Throne judgment, II Pet 3:7 and a new heaven and earth will appear which is the third world age, Rev 21:1. I know this is a very deep subject. I hope it helped.

Since creation was finished on the 6th day which is the number of man. Wouldn't this suggest that it is the time frame of man and not God's?
The 7th day is when God rested and the sabbath was declared.
Just throwing it out there.

Why don't you see that what you say is your opinion about what God meant?
The Bible usually explains itself. When God gave the commandment with respect to the Sabbath, He told us that the six days of creation were literal 24 hour days. (Exodus 20: 10 & 11). Otherwise, we work for 6,000 years and rest for 1,000.

So no, it's not my opinion. It's God's Word.
