One of my favorite Christian classic books is "Love Is Now" by Peter E.

Gillquist. Here's a good passage from a good book.

"GETTING IN FELLOWSHIP -- AND STAYING THERE"

"Way back in Ezekiel 36:26-27, God man an eternal agreement with all

who would wish to know Him and be numbered among His people. He

told us, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;

and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a

heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to

walk in My statutes". (KJV).

"This promise is also recorded in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and is echoed in

Hebrews 8:8-12. It is called the New Covenant. It guarantees that if

we are born into God's forever family through Jesus Christ, we will be

given new, soft hearts and the Holy Spirit will live within us. God will

cause us to do God's will. Whereas once our hearts were hardened

toward God, now they are pliable and obedient. Whereas once we

stood against the Lord, now we have come to stand with Him and

agree with Him. Whereas once we walked away from Him, now we

are walking with Him in the fullness of His grace and mercy.

"This is the contrast John is talking about as he opens his letter. Those

in error say they have fellowship with God, but we who believe are in

fellowship, in the light. False brethren deny their sins; we confess

ours. And we keep on walking and keep on agreeing because we know

Him and walk in fellowship with Him". [pp. 51-52: LOVE IS NOW:

by Peter E. Gillquist. (1978). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing

House.].

The elect can never lose their eternal salvation, but they all do, at times, lose their fellowship with God. Thats why God chastens those that he loves. James 1:13-15, Let no man say, when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and inticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death(death, being a seperation from fellowship with God). Pro 14:12, There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is the way of death(seperation from fellowship with God). Death is a seperation. If we are honest, we all lust after the things of the world at some time. God has a hedge around his elect, but when we lust after the things of this world we step outside of that protective hedge.

According to Hebrews 6:6 they can. Anybody can be lost. "And who fell away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify anew to themselves the Son of God and make a public example of Him".
Hebrews 6:6 ONT (Orthodox New Testament), volume 2, page 391. Calvinism is a heresy that justifies sin, because it says God is the cause of everything, so God must be the cause of people's sinning. According to the Bible, that is destructive heresy. God will save whomever He wills to save. People must want to be saved, so they do not fall away. Hebrews 6:6 proves that Calvinism is false.
Anybody who believes in God (in Christ) can be saved (2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim. 2:4, John 3:16). God is merciful, and we can't deserve it (Titus 3:5).

those who God has quickened to spiritual life (his elect) can never fall away from the security they have in eternal life, but those who have been quickened to eternal life can fall from their fellowship with God, thats why he chastens them to humble them to repent and come back into fellowship with him. Heb 6:6 are those who have been revealed the truth and then turn away from it. A lot of times it is because of a desire to please their spouse. They will never be back in full fellowship with God, but they will still have their eternal security. Most of the eternally saved children of God do not have full fellowship with him due to believing in false doctrines, such as eternal salvation by works. Only those that God has revealed the truth to has full fellowship with God. 1 Tim 2:4, The "all men" is "all of the elect". There is a salvation in coming unto a knowledge of the truth, but not eternal salvation, being saved from believing in their own righteous works for eternal salvation. 2 Pet 3:9, If you go back to 2 Pet 1:1 to find out who Peter is talking to and it is to "them that have obtained like precious faith". In verse 9 Peter is giving them a warning and even includes himself in the warning by using the word "us-ward" not willing that any of them would perish (not eternally, according to 2Pet 1:1), but from a fellowship with God. Peter is telling them, including himself, that they should come to repentence of those times that they rebell against God, in which,if we are honest, we all do at times rebell. John 3:16, According to Thayer's interpretation, the word "world" means 2889, 8) any aggregate or general collection of particulars of any sort. a) a) used of believers only, John 1:29, 3:16, 3:17, 6:33, 12:47, 1 Cor 4:9, 2 Cor 5:19. Matt 7:13-14, The two gates are gates that elect children of God go into. The wide gate are those of God's elect who are believing that their good works will get them eternally saved and the "destruction" is not having full fellowship with God. Those who go in the strait gate are those who have been revealed the truth. The life that they find in not eternal life, but that abundant life they experience here on earth, by understanding the truth.

So you are saying then, that faith without works is not dead; in contradiction of James chapter 2. Christ didn't say, "If you love Me" don't "keep My commandments".
Faith alone is contradicted by James 2:24. Some people's traditions of men in contradicted by the testimony of Scripture on the place of good works in eternal salvation.
The world [and Western Christendom] has gotten worse since 1521 AD in Germany.

Faith without works is indeed dead. Anyone that has spiritual faith has been born of the Spirit because faith is a fruit of the Spirit. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Our faith and our good works have nothing to do with being the cause of our eternal salvation, we are justified only by the faith of Christ, Gal 2:16. Our works should be motivated by love and appreciation, not fear of condemnation.
