It isn't easy, but when it comes to how you view God, you can't rely on man to be a perfect reflection. Naturally, we'd rather look to someone (or look some where) else for answers.
The Bible is the only place where we can look at God and say, "This is who He is," and know for certain that is who God is.
If we look outside and see a "Christian" (now, that person may very well be a Christian who has a wrong view, don't get me wrong with the quotes) holding a sign that says, "God hates fags", that certainly does not reflect God's character.
The Bible is clear on the issue of homosexuality and what God thinks of it; He does not approve even one bit.
And the Bible is also clear of how God views people; He loves them to death (His death, seeing as Jesus is God, might I add).
