Amen!..Jesus is our real Treasure!...everything else is just a by-product of His nature of love and grace towards us. What a great Lord we have!

His children should always call out to Him for provision, for health. We should call out to Him in hard times and in times of plenty. Prayer is believing that our God hears us, and because He hears us, He has all authority to act if He so chooses. But we have to understand our real blessings guaranteed us are spiritual blessings kept in store in the heavenly places.

I hope you didn't mean this like it sounded.

The originator of our denomination tells a story of his first time in a "church." He had studied the Bible with his wife, and finally decided to attend a "real" service.

He watched all the "goings on" and eventually asked one of the ushers: "When do we get to do it?"

"Do what?" the usher asked.

John said, "You know... all those things in the Bible." "The healings and the miracle and stuff."

The usher replied, "Oh we don't do any of those things." "We believe they happened back then, but we don't expect them to happen today." "That stuff is for when you get to Heaven"

I may have his exact words wrong, but that was the drift. John was shocked. He said, "When I worked for the Devil, I got to do his work......"

You sir need to follow Jesus.
God brings judgement and death on this world. His will is that those who can will be saved, their hearts transformed to hearts of loving individuals reaching out to others empowered and freed by christ.

Whether that is in sickness or health, in poverty or wealth is irrelevant. But a demon would preach, oh without health and wealth how can you say God loves you, he would be unloving not to give you all these things that corrupt and distort the soul.

Look around you, there is no lack of health and wealth but it has helped no one. Instead pornography, violence, abuse, exploitation, corruption, lying, cheating, sexual immorality is rampant, destroying families and homes. The common experience of most families is now divorce, split families, emnity between people and greed. And you think out of this world purity, righteousness and love is going to spring like a flame.

No what is springing is new age spiritualism, where anything goes and you dare not hold to any morals at all.

So you sir, do not understand the gospel at all, or know Christs love working in your soul or you would not condemn the very words of God.
this is the god that you follow : he does not like you very much, and really does not want you in his kingdom. but, he has decided to give you a chance. if you work really hard, have your theology perfect, dot every I cross every t, he will think about maybe not burning you in hell for eternity.

this is a false god. the real God so LOVED the WORLD that he sent his Son to die for the sins of the world. so that who BELIEVES has life, and then good works outflow from that. THAT is the God I follow. yours??? don't know him, don't want to.

How foolish of me. All this time I have been thinking it was His will that none should perish.

I believe in the power of prayer. I believe that God can choose to bless His children here on this earth, however, I don't believe our material wealth or good health is a sign of spirituality, that's all. Donald Trump is wealthy. Does that mean Donald Trump is living godly? Look to the apostles as an example.

I'm still hearing you say, "He MAY choose to bless us, but don't expect it.... it probably won't happen, because our lot is simply to suffer to be Holy."

In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
God leads His dear children along;
Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,
God leads His dear children along.Refrain
Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
God leads His dear children along;
Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
God leads His dear children along.

Refrain
Though sorrows befall us and evils oppose,
God leads His dear children along;
Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.

Refrain
Away from the mire, and away from the clay,
God leads His dear children along;
Away up in glory, eternity’s day,
God leads His dear children along.

No where in Scripture has the Lord promised physical blessings to the body of Christ. I pray expecting, but I'm not clinging to some promise He made in His word. The blessings I am promised are "spiritual blessings in the heavenly places."

You're going to have "a table spread before you in the presence of your enemies."
Are your enemies going to be in Heaven? Not very likely.
What is "a table SPREAD before you?" That just might possibly be a good thing.

And it is all going to happen HERE "in the presence of your enemies."

I have a friend who is serving the Lord in Africa, and he and his family go to bed almost every night hungry and cold. He's been beaten and imprisoned by the government for preaching Jesus Christ. Is he not right with God?

Everyday, good Christian men and women die everyday from cancer. Christians all around the world are starving. Does that mean these people are not right with God? As for me, I just happened to live in a prosperous country where the poverty level is $16,000 a year. That would be wealthy in most of this world.

That's exactly the problem. Some equate the physical promises to the nation of Israel with the spiritual blessings on the Church. That's what the Corinthians were doing. God had a covenant with Israel and it had to do with physical things. God's covenant with His church has to do with spiritual things. Don't replace Israel with the Church.

I dunno. I seem to hear you saying people with money or food must not be right with God. I think we have to be careful in both ends of the scale.... not to think that being blessed makes us right, nor that having a mindset that being a martyr makes us right.

I'm pretty sure those were the words of a grateful David.... who might have had a few bucks, and committed adultery and murder. (didn't do too well at keeping the covenant.) Maybe it WAS a promise to Israel, and I just missed it.

Funny how most of the H&W proponents point to the saints under the Theocracy of Israel to bolster their claim but are devoid of solid examples after the cross.

Why try? If I told you how blessed I am, you would just say it proves I am a degenerate. I can point to literally hundreds of wealthy, healthy Christians working for Jesus, but you would simply say they are all wrong.

That's great, but don't equate their wealth with their spirituality. Paul would say as long as they are using their wealth to do good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate.

God is good all the time. When God hears your prayers you gain God's favor. Setbacks are just blessings in disguise. Riches does not always mean blessings, sometimes they can become a curse because it can lead you to sin in so many ways and besides it very difficult for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven.

I can read the NT and know what my true blessings are in Christ without having to compare myself with others today.

And I haven't. I am simply saying the same thing to you. Don't decide they must be sinners because they have money. Abraham was mongo rich.
