:D Yeah, believe it or not, it is actually recorded Jesus offered a reward, you can put the word "gift" in those places if you like, I don't mind, I'll stick with the correct translation.

:D There is no confusion here my friend, You don't know the process, people have the ability to choose Jesus as Lord, otherwise you are advocating robot hyper grace.
Hush...don't even think that word! People are disappearing right and left!

Matthew 7:21

[ True and False Disciples ] “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

"does", indication of work.

:D Was that an accusation aimed at me ? I'll be waiting for what you might call proof, if it was. Of course there is no proof that what I have said is wrong.
It was a response to your post.

It was not intended as an accusation nor was it aimed.

I only sought to clarify and affirm Joanmarie's point.

What I was trying to say, to the forum, is that even though works don't earn us Salvation or even points with God; we should still do what we know is right.

IMO any good thing we do was amply rewarded before we do it; so we don't need to expect to be rewarded for every good thing we do. Instead we should recognize that the Good that we do is God working in and through us (Eph 2:10) and not even try to take credit for them.

When you post to a forum you should expect people to respond to you; and not always in agreement.

GOD's Grace is unmerited.

Who can say anything against that Truth.

It is because of Grace and not for Grace that we Love and Obey GOD.

Then how did Noah find grace in the eyes of the LORD?

If you knew why it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth then you might began to understand what Noah did obtain the LORD's grace that the others had not done. The LORD does not justify the wicked, neither do evil doers find grace in his eyes in their wickedness - which is what you are saying when you say that God's grace is unmerited.

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
Proverbs 10

If you are saying that grace only comes to the deserving then you contradict the very meaning of the word - can you not see that?
Also, those who are righteous in the way that you seem to suggest is necessary to receive grace from God do not need it - their righteousness justifies them.
However Paul makes it abundantly clear in His Epistles that none have that righteousness of their own accord thus grace is necessary otherwise all are lost.

Noah did not merit grace based on his righteousnesss - he did in fact receive grace (unmerited favour) from God.

God's grace is Christ's blood - which He only gives to one group of people - those who obey Him. Their obedience doesn't earn it, they are simply the group He chooses to give the gift to.
Romans 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith (not works) into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 3:24 - being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Acts of obedience which follow are works and we are not saved by works. "Their obedience doesn't earn the gift, but the gift is received based on obedience" is an oxymoron and it's also sugar coated double talk that equates to salvation by works.

Though i'm not sure what you pertain to...

i will state what my post means then you can repeat and explain what you mean if it is applicable. Thank you.

I was the worst of worst dead in my sin when I called out for help and the Light came to lead me on the path of Righteousness, to restore my soul.

I had nothing but sin and weeping sat in darkness without hope... nothing to offer for payment to to help myself.. I was truly lost and wandering.

Oh but He heard me, He came and He set me free.. by GOD's Grace and love was I forgiven and Baptized with Holy Spirit set free for free... because. Nothing I had done merited this.. So yes GOD's Grace I deserve not... but He is Merciful and just loving the sinners through His Righteousness yes His Son my Lord and Saviour.

im humbled and grateful and love and obey my Heavenly Father and my Lord.

Grace is the unmerited favor of God. It is where God shows us mercy, kindness, and patience instead of the judgment that we deserve for our sins. God's grace cannot be earned by our actions or sincerity. Grace is based on the character of God and not on our sincerity, performance, or best efforts to keep the law. Otherwise, grace would not be grace.

Romans 11:6, "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace."

Galatians 2:21, "I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

2 Timothy 1:9, "who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity."

God's grace is His enabling power in which He operates sovereignly in the lives of believers.

1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

2 Corinthians 1:12 - For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

For all the years I was saved up until only recently., what this Bible verse says about grace was not true in my life because I didn't understand that God's grace was unmerited. I didn't know it was not to be worked for. It seemed that working for it would make God SOOO pleased because He'd see "I" saw the value of it enough to work my hardest for it.

It seemed that first I had to please Him., do well., be well. Some time later when it was not possible to keep on pleasing Him., I failed., Then began running from God as many believers do. Getting further away from the truth that was so needed and allowing the condemnation to flow instead of the Holy Spirit's living water. Unfortunately., many Christians get very old and some even die before realizing this amazing truth. Thankfully., I just got older.

I so appreciate the pastor's message on grace because the truth of unmerited favor is a life changer for the unsaved man for sure., But also for the us old believers who didn't know.

Hi joniemarie...I hope you don`t mind me saying this to you but I see you post often but I am unable to read your post without struggle because of the font you are using:rolleyes:...When I try to read, your writing slants to the right and becomes black lines, this is because I wear glasses that my eyes do not see properly...A few people use this type of font, and it`s great for those without eye sight problems, just letting you know because I tend to skip over alot of your post if they are long and I could be missing a gem, Ii hope you take this in love and not a correction...xox...

Luke 24

45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
