And yet not ONE of those scriptures you quoted PS tell us that God's 4th Commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.
Most people in the western world have Saturday as their day of rest from manual labour, thereby observing the 4th commandment.

However true worship is to worship God in spirit and in truth, God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (Joh 4:24)

This, Christians do on Sunday, when Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to the people, Mk 16:9; Mk 16:9; Mt 28:5-9; Lk 24:34; Lk 24:13-15; Lk 24:33,36 + Jn 20:19; Jn 20:26.

Sunday is the day Christians break bread: Acts 20:7 and give into a common treasury: 1 Cor 16:1-2

To worship Jesus is to worship God
I and my Father are one. (Joh 10:30) And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. (Joh 12:45) All things that the Father hath are mine: (Joh 16:15) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Rev 22:13)

Christians rest from work on Saturday thereby honoring the commandments, additionally they set aside a special day specifically for the worship of God on Sunday. None Christians do not.

Do you know what the Mosaic Covenant (also called the OLD COVENANT) is Dan?
this is what i think of as the old covenant

Jeremiah 31: 32 ...the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt...

i suppose it could be called the Mosaic Covenant

the next question from 7127

"what makes up the laws of the OLD COVENANT"

i think that would be the laws Moses told the people here

Exodus 24: 3. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.

if the book of exodus is written chronologically, i think that would be the laws listed in exodus 20 to 23

"Before this, how were people to hear the Word of God? Was it not through the Levitical Priesthood?"

people heard the word of God in different ways

Genesis 1: 28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Really?

OK Dan.

that's the first time humans hard God's voice

i think God also speaks through angels

Genesis 16: 7. And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. 8. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou?

God makes himself known to us in many ways, even appearing in human form. He promised that where two or three are gathered together in HIS name, there HE would be in the midst.

I know of no Saturday worshipers who gather together in the name of Jesus. Please let me know if you do, but as it was only Jesus who said he would be with us and no other, I dread to think whose presence they are in, if they are gathered together in the name of another.

I don't see many people glorifying the name of Emmanuel (God with us) in this thread, but that is who needs to be worshiped in synagogue, church, cathedral, or mission hall.

You are denying the Levitical Priesthood that was "ADDED" until the Seed should come.

"If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,)"

"Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:"

"Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews."

"What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God."

"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath."

"And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office."

Before Christ came there was for centuries only one place to hear the Word's of the Law and Prophets, and that was through the Levite Priests.

Why would you and Dan wish to deny this basic Biblical truth?

Really....
Are you that desperate?

Everything I said is independently verifiable.
Nothing that you said about the origins of Sunday worship is independently verifiable!

I am not the one who is lying here....

Also my eternal security lies purely in the blood of Jesus Christ - I am saved by grace through faith.
I am not saved by slavish devotion to a cult sold on a mantra of salvation by works that well describes the SDA's

I make no claim to perfection, but my salvation is purely on the merits and works of Jesus Christ - not my own!
Amen! Preach it brother! :) We are not fooled by SDA propaganda, trickery and deceit! ;)

The law is the 613 rules of the law as written in the Torah!! Leviticus containing the rules for the Levites (priests) is a good source but also found in other books as well.

i believe the 613 is Ram Bam's calculation

i think it's more like 7 or 8 hundred

if exodus is chronological (maybe, maybe not), Leviticus comes after Moses put the blood of the covenant on the people

MATT. 19:19.
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

how in the world did this Holy Commandment make itself into the NT, not to mention
all of the 'others' that Christ has Commanded us to keep?

Hello MarcR,

Here your are again having no scripture no scripture to share to prove your tradition speaking your own words over God's WORD.

If you reject God's WORD none will judge but the WORD you reject in the last days.

He who God sends speaks the WORDS of GOD and he gives not the Spirit by measure unto him. The WORDS that I speak unto you they are Spirit and they are life. These are not my WORDS but the WORDS of him who sends me.

You speak your own words and speak of yourself it is clear you do not KNOW him because you share your words over God's.

We must ask our heavenly farther to have eyes to see and ears to hear so that we can know his Words that he freely give to all who come. He is knocking at the door. Who will open the door and let him in?

How can you find God's WORD when you have no WORD? How will you find your way when the road is dark and narrow and your lamp has gone out. You will indeed fall into a ditch dug by your own making because you did not listen to the king of the highway.

In Christ we can only find peace and love. We must follow him because we love him.

God's Sheep hear his voice.

.......................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
If you want Scripture, HERE IT IS AGAIN:

Gal 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
KJV

That is why I don't usually respond directly to you!

EGW wasn't quoted as far as i know, so stop attacking the church or the people of that church and use your bible to disprove the beliefs. When you start to attack these types of things it is a sign that you have nothing to respond with. Truth is in the word of God.

Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

The 4th commandment is one of the 10 commandments which is part of the law that is being quoted above. Explain how you are free to ignore this law?
Since I honestly believe the teachings to be heretical and accursed, I am duty bound to expose them as such and I make NO APOLOGY for doing so; unless you define apology as defense of one's beliefs.

Since I honestly believe the teachings to be heretical and accursed, I am duty bound to expose them as such and I make NO APOLOGY for doing so; unless you define apology as defense of one's beliefs.
Yet what is it you expose?

All you do is bring your own words over God's WORD which only show you do not have God's WORD. He who God sends speaks the WORDS of God and GOd gives the Spirit not by measure unto him.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU KNOW GOD?

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whoever stays in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

WHO ARE GOD'S PEOPLE?

Revelation 12
17,
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ

Revelation 14
12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

WHO ARE THOSE THAT RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE?

Revelation 22
14, Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.

WHAT IS GRACE FOR?

Romans 1
5, By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name.

Romans 6
1, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. 2, How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

DOES FAITH ABOLISH GOD'S LAW?

Romans 3
31,
Do we then ABOLISH THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THOSE WHO CONTINUE IN SIN ONCE THEY RECEIVE A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH?

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Indeed, those who CONTINUE IN SIN will not enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

MarcR if the road is dark and narrow how will you find your way when your lamp has gone out? How can you teach the Gospel when you do not have God's WORD and you do not KNOW God?

.................

Your futility. That is what is exposed.

Do you not know LGF that the law is impossible to keep, and for that reason all are condemned to Hell. Neither can salvation be gained by works. The Old Testament Patriarchs were saved by faith and today, those who believe in Jesus Christ are saved by Grace.

Besides which those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ do not knowingly break the law and have no wish to do so.

Your message would be best addressed to those committing mass murder in the Middle East at this very moment. Trouble is, they do not care and would not listen. The best thing you can do, is to introduce people to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I hope you discover the WHOLE truth and pray that you will find rest and peace in the love of our Lord and Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ.

May God bless.

Hi PS, thanks for your post but you are not worshipping God in Spirit and in truth if you are following the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church that lead many to breaking God's Commandments

We worship God in Spirit and in truth by BELIEVING God's WORD and FOLLOWING it.
