A megachurch that has defied Los Angeles County’s pandemic health orders was temporarily barred from holding Sunday worship services indoors, under a judge’s ruling Thursday.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff sided with public health officials, who took legal action last month to enforce health orders against Grace Community Church, an evangelical congregation in Sun Valley that has been holding Sunday worship services indoors since July 26.

“While the court is mindful that there is no substitute for indoor worship in the ‘spiritual refuge’ of a sanctuary, the court cannot ignore the County Health Order does not dictate a ban on worship,” Beckloff wrote in his decision granting the county’s request for a preliminary injunction. The order remains in effect until the issue is resolved.

The judge is clearly in violation of the Constitution. But the Supreme Court itself has undermined the Constitution in this regard. So that church would have no option other than defy the judge, and let the system show the world that the judges are now shredding the Constitution. And once that happens then you can expect totalitarianism and tyranny to replace freedom.

What really needs to happen is that an INDEPENDENT investigative commission should throughly investigate this bogus pandemic hoax and expose it to the whole world. Which would then render all such rulings as illegal. Also federal judges have been engaging in judicial activism and going well beyond their limits for some time. And no one has called for their impeachment.

The link above pertains to LA county health order mentioned in the OP .

I think the legal team working for Pastor MacArthur will not concede to this illegal order. It is an order, not a law.
This though may be God's way of showing Christians and church pastors and their board the dangers of having a 501(c)3 religious tax exemption that therein bridges the otherwise Constitutionally imparted separation clause.
As does it demonstrate the risk in having a church property deed filed with the state.

Religious freedom is guaranteed under the Constitution as an unalienable right. The threat of implied privilege occurs when a church seeks to exist as a tax exempt entity through the IRS. That then is a matter of a grant by the IRS and as such the church applicant agrees to comply with the IRS regulations as pertain to that tax exempt status.
Further, private property is assured only when the deed to a property is not put into the custody of the state.

I know someone who did not probate their mothers trust after death. Their mom had been sick for quite awhile and had let the last years property tax go.
While the trust gave the daughter all properties owned by her mom, it also insured she was not liable for her mothers past debt to the land tax.

The woman's husband later pressured her to probate the trust because they wanted to get a mortgage on the property. She did. A week later the past due tax bill and all fines and penalties arrived.
Keeping the deed in her mothers name and not probating the trust insured the woman's property remained in her custody alone through the trust issuance.

Churches might wish to consider the separation clause implied within the first amendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
And keep their deed to themselves.

I hope MacArthur ignores this latest order. It is unconstitutional and therein not enforceable. And the U.S.C cannot amend the Constitution.

Trump is on his Reelection Campaign Tour. He needs to stop in at the Church and worship with them the first Sunday morning possible. I agree this is completely against the 1st Amendment, and Trump needs to publicly challenge the City and the Judge for their illegal suppression of Christians Constitutional Right to worship.

The Pastor, and Congregation need to stand in disobedience of the Order. But they must be prepared to accept whatever consequences may come their way. Just as did the Apostles.

If they do this, I assure you that retribution will be swift and severe, and, all the while, the illegal riots/demonstrations across the country go unopposed by their respective Governing Officials.

It should be clear that the father of all liars is in charge of those who riot/demonstrate, and those who seek to shut down Christian Worship. I am not surprised.

You are absolutely correct. We should ignore God's commands and forsake the gathering of ourselves together. The world demands it. Obey men. Not God.
