I was thinking that since scripture notes that grace is obtained through faith, both being gifts from God, this would indicate that faith, or "the belief in / of", must come first. Add to that scripture which implies that your faith can grow and / or whither up and / or quite possibly die. This would suggest that it is possible for a believer to backslide, at least in my opinion. For the the sake of further study for those who share this opinion, would anyone care to share scripture concerning faith that you feel supports this claim?

I realize that there are people who may not agree with this opinion and I respect that. In turn I ask that you all return that respect by resisting temptation to turn this thread into a debate concerning various doctrines. It would be much appreciated!

at best grace through faith is a round about way....grace through faith...in super subscript...as long as that faith has works and that works has love for god....other than that forget it

I totally disagreeRo 12:3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man MEASURE OF faith.

Heb 11:6But WITHOUT FAITH it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

salvation faith is the same to all, God is not a respect of person, the faith that can be increased or exercised is dealing with our walk after salvation, or faith for the works we do cause we are saved, not works we do to get us saved, or we can increase faith to endure the trails and tribulations.

every man is dealt a measure of faith but without faith it is impossible to please Him, can't be the way you guys see it or we have a contradiction in the scriptures , which there can't be any contradictions in the scriptures only to way we see the scriptures.

1st kings chapter 21 has a storey in it
About a king who falsly accused a man and murdered him for his vinyard. It was in his family for generations on gererations.
God saw it and delt with the king by doing the exact same thing to the king and his wife jezebel.
Now i can tell you that the bible is full of men who slottered other men for things and what the result was.
If you believe in God you know he is a rewarder of them that do right. Also he is a punisher of those who do wrong,Vengence is his, sayeth the Lord

Faith is given(So always pray for more)

Jesus came to undo the works of the devil, whom through fear cept those wanting to be rightous bound.This<------------verse is good to study.
What would happen to a man with faith back when Jesus was born?
The jews would have murdered him like they did all the rest of the servants sent of God.Correct.
They murdered john and a pile of others stated in acts 7(which is a summary of the old testament in holy spirit words)
Now tho, the rightious people had bin given a man born of a woman(emanual)Who had power, and no fear,He could raise the dead.heal the blind ect.he stood up against the religious leaders in the world in that time and who still exist in this time,Glorey be to God for his gifts to men.
God revealed his promise to us.Threw this man(Jesus)

This world is full of greed, fear, imorality.
Lets get this striaght once and for all.
You have to be born again to be saved.Meaning you are no longer the immoral jerk you use to be.lol

God from the beginning of creation has worked with us men/woman to get us to treat each other with kindness, mercy, love.
is this to hard a sacrific for any of you.To be a Good person.
Is it to hard for you to be nice to others.
Jesus left us 2 things
Love god with all your heart mind soul and spirit
Love they nieghber like you love yourself(love one another)
These 2 are the basis of all the commandments

Love a friend in God
