Like a smoking gun. Symbolizing that we are all guilty of crucifying Christ because of our sin. An artistic declaration of His forgiveness on a personal level. This is Christ loving His enemy...and possibly giving His life for them or to them in a spiritual sense. (in dwelling of the Spirit)
For me: I like how Christ's face is hidden in this work of art. I have some issues with images of Him, but especially images of His face, because people may see an image of Him and worship that. Example: I once read a book on Contemplating the Cross to see what it was about since a friend was suggested to read it. In the book, the author suggests the reader to image Christ on the cross, the blood, the agony. And THEN, the reader is instructed to worship him. Yikes!! Worship a god we have created in our imaginations?? I shared those findings with the friend who saw the wisdom of it.
