John 3: 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

John 3: 30
He must become greater; I must become less.”

I don't know where to put this thread, so just put here. Whats your understanding for you on these two verses? my understanding is i must become less so that i may have the portion to be part of His bride. Christ is the bridegroom and we will match with Him ultimately to be his wife in Thy Kingdom.

Some info that may help.........

(excerpt from Article found............. here)

John 3:30 He must become greater; I must become less."

Yet since John’s mission was to go before Jesus and prepare the way for Him (Mark 1:2-3), the time came when John needed to fade into the background of the Bible story and allow Jesus His place. It is with considerable grace and humility that John says, “He must increase, but I must decrease”(John 3:30). What can we learn from this statement?

Oh, goodness, where to start? I must empty myself of me.......and ask that He fills me with His Spirit. I must earnestly seek His Will for my life. I must always remember that I am dead to the world, but alive in Christ. I must remember that in all that I do, I give God the praise, and that what I do, it is not me, but Him in me that does..............(the good works that is)

I must remember that I am not perfect, but I am His, and when I falter, stumble, or slip, that I have a Mediator who will cover my sinful life with His Precious Blood, and when I go to Him with a sincere and contrite heart and ask His forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive me.

I must always remember that God is HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! And never lessen who HE IS!

God bless and keep you and yours...........

ya, brother, i been reminded by your words --- ALWAYS REMEMBER ---its humble ourselves in front of our Lord. your words shows me the relationship between God and you, sometimes because of the environments around, we easily forget what our Lord wants from us, what His heart desire, whats exactly God needed on earth, i remember there is a sister shared with me about these: all of the things in the world does not encourage us to think of our God, all of the world is like a strong wave, blow us, distract us from God, we can't find God in the world, in our own mind, own emotion. We can find God in His Name, in His presence, in our born again Spirit. In Him, we can see Him. :D May God bless you and preserve you till the end.
