so wait if i have long hair im out of line? No offense but thats laughable...
...no offense, but, yes, that's out-of-line according to the Bible because the long-hair guy is undermining the nazarite's vows. To me it's not laughable; it's more like short-term memory.

Remember it's a little flock.
Remember believers are "saints."
Remember it's "according to the Way."
Remember it's "straight and narrow path."
Remember "the meek shall inherit the Earth."
Remember "the pure of heart shall see God."

The "church" is progressing into apostasy that abominable life styles are today front-row seats across Christendom.

The end of the passage actually does not say "we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God". It actually literally says "we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God."

And I know that makes the whole thing more confusing. But as I said, I heard a teaching once that made it all fit, including that. It's just too much to type :D

I thought all that it said was that it dishonors his head?

In the ancient world head coverings were apparently in vogue in some parts of the Graeco-Roman empire. Some groups expected the men to wear head coverings; others expected women to wear them. Still others felt that such were optional for both men and women. It is not important to determine which group did what. The important thing to note is that the early church adopted a convention already in use in society and gave it a distinctively Christian hue.

The early church practice of requiring the women to wear a head covering when praying or prophesying
would not have been viewed as an unusual request. In the cosmopolitan cities of Asia Minor, Macedonia, and Greece, no one would feel out of place. Head coverings were everywhere. When a woman wore one in the church, she was showing her subordination to her husband, but was not out of place with society. One could easily imagine a woman walking down the street to the worship service with a head covering on without being noticed.

Today, however, the situation is quite different, at least in the West. For a woman to wear a head covering would seem to be a distinctively humiliating experience. Many women - even biblically submissive wives - resist the notion precisely because they feel awkward and self-conscious. But the head covering in Paul’s day was intended only to display the woman’s subordination, not her humiliation. Today, ironically, to require a head covering for women in the worship service would be tantamount to asking them to shave their heads! The effect, therefore, would be just the opposite of what Paul intended.

1 Corinthians 11:2-16

Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved. For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. For as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.
Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

i belive it is a sin if a woman does not have her head covered whilst speaking/praying to God.
I also belive it is wrong for women to preach, or to have authority over men...and women should be in submission.

I never pray or speak with God without heaving something covering my hair.

Somewhere in the bible...God told jewish women to pray to him, only with there hair covered/with a head covwering on. And they were vain. They wore wigs so still to look beautiful. This angered God.

So i would say...have your hair covered when your speaking to the Lord.

And if your really against it...do it anyway - it wont do any harm but streghten your bond with Christ..

God Bless

p.s - i also belive a male having long hair is wrong :)

Paul has said somewhere in Corinithinas...that head coverings should be worn by women. Now it does go on to say judge for yourselves ect..and that sometimes your hair is a fir covering

so ...

Corinthians 11:3
Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is just as though her head were shaved. 6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head,b since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head

it goes on to say

14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory?
For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

This teaches that it is not natural for a man to have long hair - it is naturally shorter and thinner. And men are much more prone to baldness -- another sign imo.
A woman should look like a woman ..and a man like a man. This goes with the generall charactiristics and ideas of male and female apperance...

I mean if you were in school...and the teacher said draw a man on half the side of the paper...and a woman on the other...

i bet the woman would have long flowing hair..and the man - short hair. - its one of the universal ways of diffrenciating between a male and female. - its a culturally accepted indicator of males and females.

A mans hair should look masculine and a womans feminine...

Refusing to belive that scripture is just as bad as refusing to belive others..your cant pick and choose what you do or do not want to belive.

God Bless..and i hoped that helped you understand :)
