He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”

Every day, we are bombarded with news of conflicts, natural disasters, diseases and new strains of drug-resistant viruses. We also hear of people losing their loved ones in freak accidents. And we ask ourselves, “Is there a place where I can take refuge from a world gone mad?”
Yes, there is! God foresaw all these things and He has promised in His Word protection from every evil known to man. There is no trap set by the devil that our Father cannot deliver us from, if we trust in Him and take Him as our refuge. That is His promise in Psalm 91.
Whether it is an earthquake at midnight, a crazy sniper, an unknown virus or a terrorist attack, God says, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.” (Psalm 91:5–6)
Because you have made Him your dwelling place, angels are watching over you right now. (Psalm 91:9–11) They give heed to the voice of God’s Word, so you should give voice to God’s Word. This means that you should agree with and speak what God’s Word says about His preserving and protecting you. Then, angels are sent to minister for you. (Hebrews 1:14)
My friend, don’t say, “If it can happen to them, it can also happen to me!” Say, “A thousand may fall at my side and 10,000 at my right hand, but it will not come near me!” (Psalm 91:7) The world says that you cannot but expect danger all around. God says, “You are in this world but not of this world. You have My protection because you are of Me and in Me.” (John 17:14–23)
You have access by faith into the secret place of the Most High where no evil can touch you. There is no need to fear living in the end times because the Lord is your refuge and fortress. His Word says so. And those who trust His Word completely find His Word completely true!

Destined To Reign Devotional

While reading things like this devotional, I know it's true because God's Word says it is. Coming on CC I realize this is not how the majority believes. (because of the many and varied reasons posted) But for me, I believe and have found Him to be true to His Word.

At the exact same time, it takes stepping away from all that would hinder including the many experiences people here have. For just as many believers who have not gotten their healing there are those who have been healed and are being healed.

The conclusion of the matter for me is looking away from all that would hinder and looking to Jesus instead. To make it my business each day to know and meditate on the promises. It is not a matter of understanding them but accepting them.

Seeing the world and having a spirit of fear is what naturally occurs in people and we all are used to it and familiar with it since it has been with us from day one. What does not naturally occur is looking away and believing that at salvation, Christ gave us the Spirit of power and love and a sound mind.

If those things that have been freely given to us (and they have) and they are to be seen; and the seeing of them to be developed; it is called the good fight of faith. And it's very apparent that all of us are on different paths of our faith walk.

we create beings without a soul"......
The science of understanding has no morals, it is just asking questions and looking for answers.
Stem cells can come from embryos. I think morally this is a place you do not want to go.

I heard recently they discovered cells in your nose regrow to give you a sense of smell in a similar way to stem cells.
They are now looking at these cells to use in nerve regeneration, because like stem cells they become nerve cells given the right situation. So my conclusion is patience and caution on scientists so they know the boundaries and work within them.

Gene therapy, mitochondria replacement in invetro fertilization is a fantastic discovery and opens up the possibility of children born without a disability that will kill them, is a real gift.

My hope is through discussion, openness, working through the issues, and seeing the care needed verses the down side outcomes you are trying to sort out, really does bring a good result. If you could stop cystic fibrosis, would you say it is better to see children born with this problem, or the same people without this illness?

At heart as christians we have to answer why are people born with these problems? Is it Gods intention or is this part of the fallen world and our inheritence of rebellion against God? Most say simple God knows and cares, which simply does not fit.

At what point does a person become a person, and at what point are they responsible for their sin, to face judgement and for some, eternal torture for sin? But if you are born with no empathy or understanding, what then?

My answer, other than the good fruit, it is washed away, destroyed, no more, because there is nothing to save or use.
Without proper self perception, or morality, there is nothing that works for eternity. But eternal torture? No way.

I wrote this in another thread and thought it would make a good thread to give people something to chew on.

the problem is, you and me were born into a time in history, when doctors and hospitals are used. so your parents would take you to the doctor if sick. the time that jesus was on earth there was never the same ideas of taking your self or children to the hospital or doctor for treatment. etc the true fact ,that one of the thing in jesus ministry was healing the sick, and raising the dead, showed these thing were possible. even paul and peter showed healing in there ministry.

however to the moral or unbelieving world, that believe ,when you die, you die. then it would make sense, why the lab rats of the medical world, are trying to find cure fore illnesses. then the question would be for the money or for gods glory.

these moral issues and how they were put in place (medical drugs) is in the hands of the law makers ie politics.

If you look at the ministry of Jesus and the apostles you'll notice that with the spreading of the Kingdom (and sharing the Gospel) accompanying it was always healing, signs, and wonders. It confirmed that which was preached and if Jesus and the apostles needed it how much more do we?

The two coincided, when the Gospel was preached. In many verses you'll notice that every time the Gospel was preached all were healed, not only in Jesus' ministry but also too the apostles. If they, the apostles and Jesus, are to be a lesson for us to glean and learn from then how far have we come to accept sickness as God's will at the price of declaring Jesus' death to be in vain.

Imagine standing before a blind man and telling him, "It is not the Lord's will for you to be healed this day." The audacity! To place the blame on God at the cost of this man's revelation of God's love. Are you a parent? Even so, a child? Could you see yourself with the cure for the disease that plagues your child and say, "Not today'? How about, "A little longer"? This is not what Jesus, nor the apostles, did in their ministry. They healed them all, they gave no excuse. So then, what is ours?

Too often truth is merely relegated to experience, and yet that is not how the Lord set things in motion. Our experience is tarnished by our perception and mindset, even so the outcome of our lives. This is why we are called to renew our minds, so that we may walk as He intended. As I once heard, something of the sort, our lives are simply an echo of what our mouths speak from the heart. It is ripe with expectation and faith, and so it comes. Have you ever said, "I knew that was going to happen"? Indeed, but how little do you know the principle of expectation at work.

VVe must believe that Jesus paid for our healing and that healing is in association with the Gospel. It is shown in the lives of Christ, Himself, and the apostles. Hope that God may heal you is not the same as belief. I may hope all the days of my life, but in it is not faith. If only I would take hold of the heart that is in my savior and take full recognition that it beats for me. He is risen, so that I may have life! Life abundantly. He is the Lord that forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases, according to His word. May I believe!

That is where the rubber hits the road, to believe. To expect. To be ripe with faith. No, it is not a measure of faith but simply to believe. To the mind it seems simple, but that is at the core the Gospel. Simplicity. Faith, to stand on God's word and know that He is not a liar. He is faithful. In the same way Jesus did not deny a person their healing how is it now risen He would deny you? He gave His life for you, what is a healing in comparison?

Excuses are piling up, and doctrines made to accommodate a lack of results. VVe do not wish to offend, but do we not consider how we may end up offending God by declaring Him a liar unknowingly in our zeal to protect the tender heart of the sick? May it not be so! Lets stand on truth, heal the sick. Believe! Christ healed all, the Apostles healed all, and so too must we be capable of such results if indeed such wonders have always accompanied the spreading of the Gospel.

I do not question your faith for God to heal today, His capabilities are not in question. He can. Of course He can. He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. He speaks and it is so. I question your and my own, belief that God will heal me today. Not can He but will He? Not a hope, but an expectation for Him to fulfill His word. I need to stop hoping, for such hope may be in vain if I do not take Him at His word. I must believe. His will is for me to be healed today. That statement I must believe in my heart of hearts. May God place such a boldness in us. Not only so that we may receive our healing, but so too that the Gospel may be confirmed as it is preached. Just believe.
