When the GWT judgement arrives, those who rejected the Lord will go to the Lake of Fire. Notice that
it's the souls that go there for all the rest of forever - they're not given immortal bodies - that's only
for us who are in Christ. So it's their bodies that perish or are utterly destroyed - not their souls.

Our God is a Consuming Fire

I did say that God is eternal, not just immortal. Eternal means God has no beginning and no ending.

Immortal though, means having a beginning and no ending. When God breathed into us and gave us souls - our souls have a beginning but no ending because God imparted that to us.

The verses about the unsaved being forever punished show that we have souls that go on beyond this age into forever. That's why those verses exist in the Bible. We can't just ignore them.

There are no verse for "trinity" and "rapture" either. But you can still see those things exist in the Bible. Just like with the immortal soul that is described in the verses that talk about perpetual punishment.

As I had said before, you can't just ignore those verses. If the Bible has both types of verses, that means they are meant to be understood as a cohesive whole.

There are very few verses that say anything like that, and most of the few are from a highly symbolic book
written in apocalyptic language. Often the parable of Lazarus and the rich man is trotted out as something
that is literal and denied as being a parable because it names real people, and there is a man-made tradition
that says, since it names real people, it cannot be a parable, even though it is placed in a chapter/series of
parable after parable. Scripture explicitly states that Jesus only taught in parables. That gets ignored.


The dead know nothing. That gets ignored. Death many many many times is given
as the wages of sin but that gets ignored and replaced with eternal conscious torment.

It's a nice picture and I really like it, but the wording isn't accurate. All verses must be considered, not just the ones that support your view.
The wording comes from Scripture :rolleyes: Okay, so the dead know nothing. Square that with eternal consciousness.

The gift of God is life

Since the dead know nothing, which is explicitly stated in Scripture, they are not in eternal torment.

Death is a separation

death of the body is separation of the soul and the flesh.

Spiritual death is separation of mankind from God

God paid a way for us to be "born again" spiritually. so our separation will end. and we will be made spiritually alive

those who reject that gift will end up remaining spiritually dead. And be cast into outer darkness. or eternal separation from God.

Immortality (life ever after) is conditioned upon grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ.

I have stated this multiple times, and it it a plain teaching of Scripture, as you ought to know.

I didn't ignore that. I fully acknowledge God is eternal.

But if you don't want to consider what I wrote, I'm fine with that. I'm posting these things for other readers to consider as well.

If the those without Christ die, as in pronounced dead by a doctor, what does God still need to annihilate since they do not have anything immortal that goes from this world to the next?
