I posted this last year, but sharing it again so I can get some of your thoughts. Is this a crazy thought?

I did some research and this is what I found...

Matthew 12:40 (Hell is in the heart of the earth)
The heart of the earth would be the core.

“Hell hath enlarged herself” (Isaiah 5:14)
Scientists tell us that this hollowed out ball in the center of the earth is getting bigger and bigger as the years go by. Every time they measure that hollowed out ball in the center of the earth, they say it has grown a little bigger. Hell is obviously enlarging herself.

Ezekiel 31:16 & Isaiah 14:15 (Hell is a pit and this pit is in the depths of the earth)

Isaiah 14:9 (Hell is beneath the earth)

Ezekiel 31:17 (uses the phrase "down into Hell")

The "lake of fire" is molten lava and is located in the mantle beneath the earth. During the eruption of a volcano, the molten lava flows out from here.

Rev 14:10 (mentions fire and "brimstone")
Brimstone is sulfur. Sulfur is found beneath the earth's crust.

God is in control and since the core keeps growing in size ("hell hath enlarged") is it possible that the whole of the earth’s surface will eventually become part of the Lake of Fire?

Hell is eternal torment in an actual place. Since those who are born again will be given glorified bodies, I assume that the unsaved will also be given a body of some kind.

What are your thoughts?

I'll never look at a volcano the same way :(

Let me share with you my picture of hell. God’s word tells us the world is made of things unseen, which describes the atom and it’s components. The interesting thing about the atom is that it’s nucleus is composed of like-charged particles, and orbiting that are like charged particles. The laws of science dictate that like charged particles repel each other, indicating the whole dang thing should just naturally come apart. But God says that all things are held together by Him[1]. The Lord spoke this creation into existence, putting it together by His very Word (note the similarity of word/world). We are told that at the end of its existence the elements will melt with fervent heat[2]. Consider what happens when an atom is split - it creates intense heat and fire as the element is ripped out of existence. Could it be possible that when God speaks it out of existence, the resulting nuclear meltdown of all created matter that now exists as our earth and heavens will create the lake of fire? Would it seem fitting that those who love this world more than Him would be given it, in its natural state apart from Him?

I believe hell is in the Earth. There is sulphur underneath in lava in the ground, and somewhere under all of that lies hell.

NOPE. It is not...

I cannot remember ever believing that hell was anywhere but - at the center of the earth.

However, my best "educated guess" about the lake of fire is that it is [in] the sun...

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. ~ Revelation 20:14

If hell can be cast into the lake of fire, then... ;)

Just a thought...

Both Heaven and Hell are spiritual realms so I don't know why they would be physical places. The New Heaven and the New Earth, on the other hand, will be a perfect combination of the beautiful physicality of Earth and the spiritual holiness of Heaven.

Hell is more than just "heat" and "into the depths". Hell is a place where God's presence is removed. So God's presence is removed from the core of the eart? I believe that Hell is an actual place and whether it's physical or not I'm not sure, but if it is physical it's not in the middle of the Earth. That would imply that we could drill down far enough to get to hell, and that when volcanoes erupt, parts of hell are spewing out. I don't think so...

When did scientists start saying this?

True, Abiding. Both Hell and the Trinity thread seem to have no end.

What many consider hell is translated grave most the time.. Or a garbage pit outside of Jerusalem at the time too.

But when people die, weather they did good or bad , they go before Christ in heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:10). It might seem like there is a burning fire right now, that people are sent to when you read certain passages in the English. But that is not what it says in the hand written copies in Hebrew or Greek.

But the heavens and the earth (including the sun) pass away at the end, so hell can't be contained in them. And while we hear about it we don't really see hell until they pass away. So hell exists outside our timed here and now. But it IS a physical place. I really think our here and now's passing creates it. But I could be wrong.

Ponder this. Our here and now ends, we then see hell, and we then see a new creation. Do hell and the new creation exist side by side, eternally?

Good point, and I am still stumped as to when the core of the earth went from being rock solid to hollow. I am thinking if it was hollow all the pressure surrounding it would make it collapse.

Ricky, you may use the quote but it was I (Tintin) not Radius who wrote it.

What's more, the diagram pictured in the OP says "Inner core - Solid Fe". Emphasis on solid. How do yo have a hollowed out ball of solid?

There's much to what you've posted. That's my thought.

There are a lot of volcanic islands and active volcanoes here in the Phil's. I've never liked that heat coming from beneath.

It's solid as in it's not hollow, it's full of molten lead mostly. But from an engineering standpoint many hollow structures are stronger than their solid counterparts (any engineers here want to fact check that please?)

Another question to throw into the pot: would outer darkness, the place where the demons did not want to go, be there too?
