So I was asking for help in the bible study chat because I believed I had committed the unforgivable sin but people were giving me different interpretations of what the unforgivable in was etc etc and I got a bit of a headache. I believe I may have blasphemed the Holy Spirit when I said to God out loud "Please forgive me I think I may have involved the Holy Spirit in a joke" was what I said considered blasphemy? I heard blasphemy is ANY disrespectful talk about sacred things and saying that I may have involved the Holy Spirit in a joke is blasphemy or is it not? Please help. Can jokes be non-blasphemous are all jokes blasphemous? help me please.

Reading your post you have not commited that sin . The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and to feel convicted is good, to not feel convicted is a worry

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, or being in danger of it that is, is teaching (saying) that God cannot forgive ANY sin.

Matt. 12:22-32 says, "Then there was brought to Him a demon-possessed man who was blind and dumb, and He healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw. 23And all the multitudes were amazed, and began to say, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?" 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." 25And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand. 26"And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? 27"And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Consequently they shall be your judges. 28"But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29"Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. 31"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32"And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come," (All Scripture quotes are from the NASB).
Notice they Blasphamied the Holy Spirit

No, It is, impossible for you to have committed the unforgivable sin. That sin can only be committed by the Elect, those people, that have come to the full knowledge of the order of events, that consummate the end of this age. And only at the time anti-Christ , stands in Jerusalem , claiming to be God.

When the elect are delivered up, the Holy Spirit will speak through them, and for them to refuse, the Holy Spirit, (having full understanding of what is happening and their roll in it), the opportunity to speak through them at that time; is unforgivable. And their soul dies right there. Read of it in Mark 13, Luke 21, Matthew 24 etc.. You have not even come close to committing that sin.

you're just going to get a bigger headache from reading the responses in the forums if you got one from listening to people in the chat.

there are alot of opinions out there. I could give you mine, but I would advise you to pray and ask God what He thinks about it.

It sounds like you may need to repent of mocking God and making a joke out of things Holy but that is different then blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

The reference in the Bible talks about when they tell Jesus that He has a demon inside Him that allows Him to heal others by casting out demons.

That is why I think it wise not to judge others salvation but to pray for all because Jesus will judge people's hearts.

If you are concerned. pray and ask God to make your heart right. Pray and ask God to guard your tongue so you do not do it again. Pray for your friends because you thought it funny and fell into the temptation of peer pressure and being friends with the world and an enemy to God. Pray that Jesus will intercede for you and help you learn His ways. Pray that the Holy Spirit guides you to a deeper relationship with Him.

Pray and diligently seek to add to your faith, knowledge, self control, brotherly kindness and the other things 2 Peter talks about.

The past can be forgive, the future is unknown, what will you do TODAY? Will you be a LIVING sacrifice?

will you offer to God a humble and contrite heart?

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a continual rejection of the work of the Holy Spirit upon the heart as in the case of king Saul and the pharisees as well who rejected the conviction of the Holy Spirit and said Christ had a devil.
