How many Christian doctrines are tabled in your church constitution?
Does your church have an eschatology that they teach?
In all truth, I no longer attend any church. I find the teachings, and attitude of most of the people to be out side of what the Word teaches. I do however study with many people on line. We have had some come in that wish to push a man made doctrine, although they don't stick around long. When asked how the understanding of one passage can be rectified, so as not to stand in conflict with another, they get upset, and you see what is found on here. Don't get me wrong, we do have some debates that may last for weeks. However that is when we think we know something, and someone comes along with a different take on it.
As an example. We just finished a debate on the feast. As we were looking at them, someone asked, "If the feast are HaShems feast, then why do we do things differently than the Torah tells us?" After around 2 weeks of looking at that, we decided on one thing. To come back to it later.
You see, we as followers of the full Word, and not just a part of it, like the O.T. or N.T. Had to seek a way to keep the feast in a way that fits the full of the Word. Long story on that, just understand this much. There are parts of the feast that a gentile must leave for the Hebrew people. After all most of the feast are a reminder of what HaShem did for them. However it is our understanding that the feast were kept by Paul Acts 18:21 and others, so how did they do so? We are still working on that one. Even though we did set it aside for now, we are still looking for the answer. until we have a sound answer, we will keep them as we have done for around 25 years.
You see, a true student of the Word is always looking to push past what they think they know, and find what we might be missing. Has our understanding changed due to this? Yes it has to. After all, if one doesn't learn and grow, they become stagnate.
