Can we keep the whole law of God without stumbling? If we do stumble what is the wage? Eternal or temporal?
I've read most of your posts, and you (as well as the rest of us) had better hope and pray the wage is not Eternal.... no matter WHAT it is.

Can we keep the whole law of God without stumbling? If we do stumble what is the wage? Eternal or temporal?
I hope that I can express myself correctly

I am not sure what you mean by the whole law of God, maybe you could clarify this.

I am going to assume you mean the Law of Moses the 10 commandments given by God.

If that is the case I think those 10 were summed up in two by Jesus.

Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

To me the following is eternal

Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

and this sin is

John 16:8-9
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

The sin of unbelief in and on Jesus for forgiveness of sins.

That is eternal.

Going back to the new two commandments given by Jesus I would say yes we will stumble.

Having placed our faith in Jesus and gone from unbelief in him and what he has done for us to reconcile us back to the Father then we will want to be like him. We will want to walk the way he has asked us to, because of what he has done for us.
He fufilled the two new commandments he gave and has asked us to do the same.

If a person has no desire to do so and doesnt give two hoots and doesn't want to change then to me they are still in a state of unbelief in Jesus. Maybe an easy meal ticket.

Lets all all be honest if we truly believe and have placed faith in Jesus and want to be like him and walk like him, we will stumble and get it wrong.

If we do so then to me the wage is temporal. We will suffer here on earth as a result. But it's not eternal.

If memory serves me, Moses wasn't allowed to enter the promised land because of something he did wrong.
That was temporal but I believe he is in Heaven

    1. to guard
    2. metaph. to keep, one in the state in which he is
    3. to observe
    4. to reserve: to undergo something

We who are in Christ keep the whole law always. Not by what we do or do not do but by being hidden in Christ. Jesus is the only one who ever walked the earth who kept perfect law. Since perfection is the standard to meet and since we can never, ever meet the standard, we need a savior. Thankfully we have one in Jesus. ;)

To me, I just 'keep' the directives of Jesus in my heart. No, I do not keep them perfectly in behavior. Don't we all worry sometimes? Don't we all act selfishly without thinking about it? Don't we all have pride rule at times?

But, I keep the word of God in my heart as my goal... and the basis for choices and the need for confession and forgiveness.

I even try to keep the word of God before my eyes so that I do not forget.
I would agree another poster said to observe.

What does the Judaiezer mean to keep the Sabbbath?

if we could keep the law. The cross would never happen. We would be alive as long as we did not sin, then the first time we sinned, we would be doomed forever.

If God did not intervene, Adam would have been lost forever after his one sin, God intervened by covering adams sin (nakedness) with an innocent animal that gave its life.

With respect to Christ and the word of God. To take as one's own to guard as most precious. To never consider surrendering to another. Not unlike taking a wife and keeping her elect and precious above all others.

For the cause of Christ

Philippians 3:3-9
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

I agree we keep it by guarding or observing it. No man can keep it without error. The Judaizers are hoping they can and therefore dismiss the eternal wage as being there to begin with . Making some sin less than eternal with different degree of punishement and time as something they could work out the eternal wage in their own flesh. .

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Collossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God

There are a few specific verses also read Romans especially 6,7 and 8.

I just got off a thread where there was much strife.
Not looking for another one.

I believe there is much to learn and it's nice to hear what Christians have to say.
Of course, we won't agree with some things. I'm sure we all have our minds made up.

But some don't. I was getting likes and PM's from persons that were NOT posting. So I continued.
I guess we should post for them too?

Anyway, I like to SHARE, NOT FIGHT.

And if someone doesn't want to speak to me because I'm a "work salvationist", whatever that is, well, that's JUST FINE.
I'm not here looking for friends, but I DO like to be friendly.

See you around.
