I am enrolled in Vince Rizzos Ames International School of Ministry, so I am keeping the faith and hope, learning more. But this pain needs to go. I don't want to get addicted to pain pills, up to 6 a day now and pain constant. I don't want harder pain pills, that will lead to the Heroin on the streets, and I don't even want to be there.

How do I know if Gods plan for me was to fail at everything, suffer a bit, then kill myself? I have not really gotten there, but that point seems close. Got nothing saved, if wife kicks me out, homeless with a Motorcycle.
Pray for us please.
Because God's plans for you include trusting him, and killing yourself is decidedly NOT trusting him.

And because if the wife is kicking you out, the failing and "suffering" may well be your own doing. I'm not saying it is, but I find this post odd in that it is all about you, and yet your brother had heart attacks yesterday.

If the concern you've had for your wife is equal to the concern you have for your brother, that could be the problem.

It partly could be, I quit my job to take care of her Brother. She has always had a higher paying job, so I quit mine. She is tired of her stress, lost 4 siblings in 3 years, retail job kinda sucky but paid well.

Stuff to know about chronic pain:
-- Are you constantly looking forward to your next pill? As in, do you like the buzz the pills give? If you aren't, then stop worrying about addiction. 3% of people who need pain pills become addicted. 97% become dependent. What's the difference? In both cases, there is withdraw when taken off the meds (if ever taken off the meds.) But, if you're not abusing them for the high, it will not go onto heroin. It won't even go into addiction, unless you decide the high is worth it. That's media/political propaganda you're actually buying. Don't! It's hogwash!

If you are abusing them, then I'm back to wondering if you're really in pain or just like the high. (I'm describing the 3% of those who do abuse them, so I'm thinking the odds are in your favor that you aren't one of them for this one.)

-- On the flip side, do worry about how many you're taking and which kinds. Doctors tend to prescribe the type that also include aspirins or NSAIDs. Too much inflammatory meds really do thin out your blood, leading to the same serious problems people on blood thinners have. (Bump your arm and you have a bruise that looks like you were in a car wreck. That is blood leaking out of your veins, even if it's not leaking out of your skin.) Too much blood lose is a serious problem. So, go for what works for you and make sure your doctor is on the same page.

Also, it is a drug, and too much of any drug over a long number of years will damage your liver. My doctor told me no more than six per day, but I've been able to manage on four a day so much so that I had to talk my doctors into cutting back. (Was on 10 mg., now on 5 mg.) The "secret" is that pain pills do NOT stop pain. They mask pain. There are levels to pain. Pick the level that doesn't overwhelm you, but certainly never expect that if you take enough you can mask it entirely. Never going to happen (minus a miracle, of course), so figure out what level you can live at.

-- Is there an operation that can help you? No, seriously. Is there? Because if there is, get it! Sell the freaking bike if you have to. One pain-free life is a much better deal than holding onto a bike, even if the bike is a Harley. BUT get this, just because a doctor tells you there is an operation that will help you, understand the terms. My brother went that route for a bad back. (He was born with sclerosis, but wasn't treated for it until he could afford to be in his 50s.) His goal was to play golf for as long as he could. It's ten years later, (he's only 63), and his spine is fused in three places, can't get through a metal detector without proof of surgery, and has absolutely no triceps under his left arm anymore. He also walks like he's 90. Golf left the building because doctors swore they could fix him. Surgeons think they can fix anything. They know nothing besides surgery though, so won't think to tell you of any other way to treat the problem. Kind of like asking a dairy farmer if milk is good for you.

Ah! It is spine related. (The pain.) Learn all you need to learn from the articles on Spine Heath. That's where I get most of my info.

Fail at everything? I can do all things THROUGH Christ who strengthens me. If you have Christ, you can succeed now. That's proves God's plan is not for you to fail at everything. His plan is for you to be found in Christ Jesus.

Suffer a bit. Read Hebrews 11.32-40. The present suffering is nothing compared to the eternal glory that awaits those who are in Christ Jesus.

Kill yourself. You are not your own. God gave you life. Now live for Him.

Got nothing saved, if wife kicks me out. Kick her out. Or don't let her kick you out. There's a reason for her wanting to kick you out. Fix it.

Homeless with a Motorcycle. Get your wife out of the house and take her for a ride!

Really? Now that you gave your advice, want to read the rest of the thread to figure out why your advice is wrong?
