Daniel 9

24:Seventy weeks are decreed
about your people and your holy city—

I'm finally trying to wrap my mind around these verses. I need your help.
Please limit your answer to this question. Please don't bloviate off on to other subordinate, or non-germane areas. Thanks

How long is a week?
How did you come to your conclusion?

a week is seven sets of either days or years,

you have to look at the context to determine which it is.

Also there is scriptures about the Feast of Weeks.

Week = years

Genesis 29:27
Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.”

week = 7 days

Leviticus 12 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean. 3 And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4 She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5 ‘But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her customary impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purification sixty-six days

most say that Daniel 9 weeks refers to years. therefore they say it is seven sets of 70 years or 490 years.

depends on the context.

"week" refers to "a set of seven".

in Daniel 9 it is seven years.

In other places in the Bible it is seven days.

the word just means a "set of SEVEN"

it is used like an adjective, not a noun.

its like how we use the word "couple"

we know it refers to"TWO" of something but not TWO of What.

does that make sense?

So is it consensus from ALL perspectives that the 70 weeks is 490 years? If not, what are the other time interpretations for the 70 weeks?

Well just in general. There are some general things there is no debate about. I'm thinking a total of 490 years may be one of them. But we shall see.

There is always a vast peanut gallery on 'end times' so hopefully it shows up and educates me on other potential interpretations for time in reference to weeks and 70.

If the vast expansive peanut gallery agrees that 70 weeks is 490 years, then I'll carry on in my personal study of this.

I just want to hear out all angles on it before I go further.

its not the weeks thing you'll get debate upon but the fulfillment of those weeks and the whole gap theory thing.

lol. well one thing we do know, is that 69 weeks were fulfilled to the day from the time to restore the city until the time messiah entered Jerusalem on a donkey. and a week (days) later he was cut off (killed) just as daniels prophesy said. Using this we can be assured it was years, not days or hours or weeks, or some "symbolic" interpretation which means it is none of the above (which I have heard many times)
