But didn't Jesus battle demons? In the desert it is said he battled demons when he was alone for 40 nights. I am new here so forgive my ignorance.
Not so much a battle. More of a few "shut ups" but said more directly than that.

Oh, and welcome to CC. And, stick around and you won't be new next week. (It really doesn't take long not to feel new around here. lol)

Why get involved if your gonna run away when your stumped and hide behind childrens sayings. If your in to deep stay in the shallows and listen as opposed to trying to teach and having no idea of the depth. nothing amusing here. But its a shame you think its funny when the message is so important.
Oh brother. Kind of like a hangover. You'll regret that in the morning. lol

Why would you want to go out of your way to see something as awful as that? It's really creepy. Up there with wanting to see a snuff movie.
your right, demons are nothing to mess with. we should test all things but i believe evil should not be tested as well IMO.

my point is why are demons not being cast out like they were in the old days. what has changed.i think it has to do with todays watered down version of Christianity.

Beelzebub says you're in. SATISFIED!

How many demons? Up to 3, at least on this thread. One's a newbie.

I'm not sure if it's me that you're referencing as far as disagreeing with this guy but in a sense I agree and in a sense I disagree. What gets me with people who come here like this...is the all or nothing thinking. Indicates an unrecognized anger deep down in the soul.
I think Greggy had a very bad day and is taking it out on everyone. Once he calms down, I hope to find the real Greggy.

And, from the way he started (before his anger went into a full fledged boil), I actually think the majority of us agree with him, but he doesn't know that yet. If you go through the thread, (and after being given a triple-dog-dare-you, I don't blame you for not doing that lol), he started out sensible, and he's not really a my-way-or-no-way kind of guy. He just boiled into that and being consumed with the anger, it actually looked like he was on all sides at once.

Being a patient kind of gal (ROFL), I can see when patience left the building.

Hopefully tomorrow, we see the real Greggy, (who will be all kinds of embarrassed on what he did.) I so hate a rage hangover the next day. Never quite know what to do with myself.

It's kind of weird. I can't really explain the whys, but I know some random facts.

There are more miracles happening in any given country of Africa in a single day then there are in all of America in one day.

There are more demons being removed in any one country in a week in Africa then there are in all of America in a year.

Africans are sending missionaries to First World countries.

I'm thinking Africa isn't so mixed up as America is when it comes to the US thinking religion and conservatism are the same thing. I'm thinking the US is stuck with an old religious background and mixing that up with being saved. I'm also thinking Africa is into slaughtering people more often then the US, so demons really do occupy that continent in ways they don't do in this country. But, honestly? I don't know why.

I hope so as well.

Here are a couple verses that come to mind:

1 Corinthians 9:24-26 New International Version (NIV)

The Need for Self-Discipline

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.

1 Timothy 6:12 New International Version (NIV)

12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Welcome to the forum.

No Jesus did not battle with demons during the 40 days and nights. He contended with the great Panjandram himself, Satan, king of the evil angels. He was considered important enough for Satan himself to take him on. (Most of us are left to less important demons). But even Satan did not really recognise quite Whom he was talking to.

This was of course before Jesus bound him, and may well have begun that binding (Matt 12.28-29),

As the Western world became more nominally Christian the effectiveness of demons was diminished. Even the nominal belief in Christ, upheld of course by the genuine Christians, was effective in limiting them. To have dealings with the occult was frowned on. Thus demon possession became less of a problem. They can only possess those who open themselves to them.

In Africa and Asia which have never been nominally Christian demons continued on virtually unchecked.

Sadly demon possession is now creeping back in Western countries as people cease to call themselves Christian, and many engage in the occult. Thus demon possession and the casting out of demons is increasing.

Yes. We actually do. BUT, I strongly suspect we won't need to give them, because you already know them, once you calm down.

From what I see, only one person is disagreeing with what you believe. The rest of us are mostly agreeing with you or completely agreeing with you. It's just hard to tell, until someone notices you're playing on both sides of the field.
HeY i am not angry I am just very short of time for posting . So I am stright to the point. It doesnt matter how I say what I say. What matters is, is what I say correct. Thats what matters.

Do you think somehow we have more than twenty four hours in a day? You are deceived to think it matters not how you say things. And no, you are not correct in all you put forth.

where did you read about this in Africa? i want to know more.
It's kind of a mixture of stuff I've read over the decades, plus knowing someone who was a missionary in Kenya. I know some of what I've read came from The Smithsonian and National Geographic, but I can't tell names of articles or issues. (One was about the mines in one country where the mines are worked by slave boys kidnapped from their parents -- often killing the parents, if they don't let the creeps steal the boys. That was sometime last year in The Smithsonian. About the best I can do for remembering stuff.)
