Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. ( Proverbs 1:23 )

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ( John 14:16-17 )

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified. ) ( John 7:38-39 )

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
( John 16:13-14 )

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. ( Isaiah 59:21 )

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? ( Luke 11:13 )

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. ( John 4:14 )

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. ( Ezekiel 36:27 )

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. ( Galatians 3:14 )

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. ( 1 John 2:27 )

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
( Romans 14:17 )

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. ( Romans 8:26-27 )

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. ( 1 Corinthians 2:12 )

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ( Romans 8:15 )

Greetings,

Only Jesus of Nazareth was given the Holy Spirit without measure John 3:34- For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. We are illuminated by the Holy Spirit according to what the Spirit hears from the Father who gives to each according to His own good pleasure. Furthermore, the influence of the Holy Spirit is jaded by our fallen nature to do evil. Our nature as fallen men and women desensitizes us to a lot of truth. This means that not everyone will possess the same mode of understanding, or receive the same amount of blessings from the LORD. You ask the question, "how can we open up to the Holy spirit and receive Him in His fullness..." The answer is to pray for understanding, however, you cannot simply pray for understanding while being unwilling to expunge false doctrine and the Most High knows this. The ones that are blessed with understanding are the ones who are willing to forsake all in order to follow Christ, some say this on the exterior but in their heart their works deny it's truthfulness.

What is in your head as far as the expectations go....this is where many fall into
disappointments or trouble. Do you want to swing your coat and have large audiences
fall down? Do you expect a play by play revelation of how to walk in this life?
What do you mean by fullness? Isnt grace enough? It was for Paul.
You better define "power" because there is alot of power in the universe.
Id say Humility is the starting place. With your motives towards the needs
of others.

Ask for wisdom and fast. Many times in the word of GOD the Spirit was moved by our humbling ourselves. Matt 23:12 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Matthew 6:16-18 "Moreover when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites,
of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear
unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou,
when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; that thou appear
not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret ..."

If you want a deeper closer relationship with the LORD one way to do this is through Fasting. Fasting is a powerful tool because we are crucifying our flesh and humbling ourselves before GOD. Fasting is a sacrifice because you are giving up food to afflict your soul to hear from GOD. The combination of prayer and fasting is one of the best ways to hear the voice of GOD. There are many reasons to fast: Spiritual direction, revival, strength against demonic powers, health for the body, Loosen heavy burdens, and over coming addictions.
To get started you should consult a doctor on your health issues and he may come up with a fasting plan that will fit you. Then you should think about what you want from this fast. Then find Bible scriptures that deal with the topic of your fast. Then pray those scriptures during your fast. Decide the type of fast you want to do and for how long. Confess your sins to GOD and go into this with a pure heart. Ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you on this fast. He may bring up things you have not thought of in sometime.
Some people who fast in the Bible
Jesus- before he started his ministry Luke 4:14
Hannah– for a baby 1-Samuel
Ezra - protection Ezra 8:21-23
Daniel for Gods promises to be fulfilled and revalation - Daniel 9:3, 20
Elijah - heard gods voice 1kings
Moses- hear from GOD and get the ten commandments
Nehemiah - in mourning -Nehemiah 1:4
Nehemiah and the children of Israel -confessed sin and worshipped the Lord our God." Nehemiah 9:
1-3 "
Jonah - to turn away GOD’s anger from a nation. Jonah 3:8
Cornelius- for understanding acts 10:30
Barnabas and Saul - for Gods will in their life acts 13:2-3
For leaders of the church- acts 14:23

That's kinda where I'm hung up actually. Because it's up to us not to mess up, and when we do good it's God's doing? I don't get that. We must get some of the credit, because we DO do a lot of the work when we actually do resist evil. Because often times evil is more alluring to us than good, and the act of denying ourselves is difficult and most certainly our doing. If you didn't do anything to do good and it was you're natural inclination than that's a little different. Yes, the Bible says "every good gift comes from the Father". And that still holds true. James Chapter one verse 12 says "Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him." Jesus said those who love God are those who follow His commandments. That would be an action, and not only that, but a very difficult action depending on the level of preference you have for the evil. To deny that we get credit for what we do is crippling to the Christian because the motivation for doing good goes significantly down. For what do we have to look forward to when we succeed if we say "it wasn't my doing, but God's" That's not humbleness. The Bible says we should get credit and receive what? The crown of life. Wow, thanks for your comment. I just worked out that piece of faith I wasn't sure about. Now I'm sure.

The Holyspirit was to be a helper. Not a source of power at our disposal at our will
to do what we think the Kingdom needs.

The Holyspirit will glorify the Father and the Son(not a man) and will not speak of Himself.
The only thing you can do is to not do, and die to personal selfcentered desires.
Gifts are never earned. But the flesh will grieve and not allow us to live in the graces
we might recieve.

Jesus said if you love me...obey my commandments..and i will send...Thats the biggest
clue i know of. Obey God...this is the whole duty of man.Seek the giver, not the gift!

Greetings,

Scripture says in 1 Samuel 15:22 that obedience is better than sacrifice. To strive to keep His commandments is our reasonable service. Similar to a child and their parents, the child is expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the household. It's also important to remember the wretchedness that is within man and that God is under no obligation to save any man. The only credit that we are entitled to is condemnation -for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Even after we receive saving grace we still commit sin, but God continues to show mercy and not hold our trespasses against us. Brandon, we are not to look at the deeds that we commit as anything worth getting a recompense for, but to bring forth fruit meet for repentance (Romans 3:8). I am not saying that the Christian will not receive blessings, but don't do works just to get something good in return, but do them as one in obedience to the commandments of God.

When we were dead in trespasses and sins we were in the negative column in regards to our sin debt. Once this debt was satisfied by Christ our account was brought to -0-. Now, the things that we do after receiving saving grace for the kingdom of God are our treasures stored up in Heaven -Matthew 6:19-20; which will be tried by fire. Throughout the life of the Christian we receive blessings and favor simply because we are children of the Most High and are partakers of special (saving) grace with other members of the elect (body), but our obedience to the commandments of God (specifically the law) are what we should strive to do without necessarily expecting anything in return.

Dear friends..

I would like to explain about the Holy spirit, what I knew..If there is any mistakes please forgive with Christ Love.

( 1) we should repent and Baptised....
Act 2;37-38 is the end of peter's talk on the day of pentecost, and it gives the response of the people to his message. Therefore we have the promise ; "you will receive the gift of the Holy spirit". We also have two conditions clearly started; "repent and be baptized." To repent means to turn sincerely from all sinfulness and rebellion and sub mit oujrselves without reservation to God and to His requirements. To be baptizaed is to go through an ordinance of a sacrament by which each of us in personally and visibly indentified with Jesus Christ to the world in His death, burial and resurrection. So thre are two basic, primary requirements for receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit ; we must repent, and we must be baptized..

(2) Ask God..
in Luke 11;9-13, Jesus says

"so I say to you; Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Here is a simple condition but a very important one . Jesus says the Fathr will give the Holy Spirit to His children if we ask Him for the Holy Spirit. I have heard Christian say. I don't need to ask for the holy spirit." i must tell you that is not scriptural. Jesus was speaking to His disciples and He said, " your father will give you the Holy Spirit if you ask for it. Elsewhere Jesus said He would go to the father to send the HOly Spirit to His disiciples. My feeling is that if Jesus had to ask the Father , it will not do us any harm to ask as well. This , then third condition; to risk

(3) Be Thirsty: In John 7;37-39, we have more simple conditions stated;
"On the last and greatest dsay of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voicce, " if a man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture had said, streams of living water flow from within Him," By this he meant theSpirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

The author of the gospel makes it very clear that in this passage Jesus was talking about believers receiving the Holy Spirit. With that in mind, let us look at what Jesus said. "If a man in thirsty, let him come to me and drink". These are three simple but practical requirements.

The first is we must be thirsty. God does not force His blessings on people who fel they do not need them. many people never receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit because they are not really thirsty. If you think you have all you need already , why should God bother you with more? Very probably, you are not making the best use of what you already have. you would be under greater condemnation if God gave you more.

That is an essential condition-- to be thirsty. To be thirsty means you have recognized you need more thanyou already have. As a matter of fact, thirst is one of the strongest desires in the human body. When a person is really thirsty, they do not care about eating or anything else. All they want is a drink. i spent three years in deserts in North Africa, and I have a pretty good picture of what it means to be thirsty. When a man is thirst, he does not bargain or talk or discuss; he just goes to where the water is. That is what Jesus was saying; you must be thirsty.

(4) Come to Jesus
"Then , if you are thirst, He said" come to me..." so the second condition is to come to Jesus . Jesus is the Baptiser in the HOly Spirit. If you want the baptism, you must come to othe One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. No human being baptizes in the HOly Spirit, only Jesus..

(5) Drink " Then He said you must drink. This is so smple some people leave it out. But drinking is receiving something within you by a decision of you will and a physical response. It is also part of receiving the HOly Spirit. Thirsting, coming to Jesus and drinking are all essential. Just being totally passive and saying, " Well if God want to do it, let Him do it!" is not drinking. Drinking is actively receiving within you.

(6) Yield " we want to consider two more relevant facts concerning our physical bodies whicjh were touched on in earlier sections, First our bodies are destined by God to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. I corinthians 6;19 says.."Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, who you hve received from God"

second we are required to offer or yield to God the parts of our bodies as instrument for His service. This is our responsibility. Roman 6;13 states "Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him (God) as instruments of righteousness.

We have a rewsonsisbility straight from the scripture to offer, yhield, or dedicate the various memebers of our physical bodies to God for His service. One member particulrly needs God's control; the tongue. Jemes says very simple in his epistle; " but no man can tame(control) the tongue..james 3;8"

We need help from God to control all the members of our bodies, but we need special help with our tongues. When the Holy Spirit comes in His fullness,. the first member that He affects, takes control of, and utilizes for God's glory is the tongue. you will find, if you care to check, taht every time the New Testament speaks of people being filled with the HOly Spirit or full of the Holy Spirit, the first immediate result is some utterance that comes out of their mouths. They speak they prophesy, they praise, they sing , they speak in tongues- but always the mouth is engaged. When you come to Jesus and Drink, the final result will be an overflow, and it will be out of your mouth. This principle is stated by Jesus very clearly in Mathew 12;34"For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks" When your heart is filled to overflowing, the overflow will take place through your mouth in speech. God wants you not to have just enough. He wants you to have an overflow. Remeber He said, " out of his inner being will flow rivers of living, That is the ultimate purpose of God. God"S Requirements .. The following are the sesven conditions that I have found in the Bible for receiving the fullness of the HOly Spirit..( 1. Repent ..2. Be baptized, 3. Ask God. 4. Be thirsty
5. Come to Jesus ; He is the Baptizer
6. Drink -- receive within yourself. 7. Present your body as a temple for the HOly Spirit and your members as instruments of righteousness. ) Perhaps you are left wondering how you can do all this. I want to help you by sharing a pattern prayer that includes the things I have been explaining to you. Read it over, and , if it is your prayer, pray it aloud to the Lord.

lord jesus I'm thirsty for the fullness of your Holy Spirit. I present my body to you as a temple and my members as instruments of righteousness, especially my tongue, the member I cannot tame. Fill me, I pray, and let your Holy Spirit flow through my lips in rivers of praise and worship. Amen! If you prayed that prayer sincerely, it has been heard, and the results are on the way. you may be quite surprised at the fullness of what you will receive.

friends If you feel any wrong in my opinion about Holy spirit..please suggest me with Christ Love..yours loving friend..

Erm.....WE dont do anything...God does it all....even our faith is a gift.

But if you really want an answer then...faith in Jesus?

Am I close?

If YOU don't release YOUR faith nothing happens. If YOU don't live in faith nothing happens. Faith is a gift from God by his grace. If faith isn't received then nothing happens. One must take the faith and USE it. A whole world sitting around expecting God to do it all when God is watching and waiting on the world to do something.
