yes, i suppose it is :)
depending on an altar & a temple that does not exist is very disheartening. but there is no temple in the city because the Lamb is its temple

.. however Romans 10:3-4 is the answer to the hearts desire that they be saved ((10:1-2, re: 'eternal life is to know Him' John 17:3)), not the answer to "how can He judge us, since no one can resist His will?" ((9:19))
the answer to that is, "
who do you think you are to ask such a question?" ((vis-à-vis Job 38-41))

although.. in part the answer is a righteousness which is not of ourselves, but of Him, by faith in His mercy, apart from works. which is God enfleshed, Jesus of Nazareth, 10:3-4, His Salvation
This about them having a change of heart not salvation.

I'm going to show an easy way to understand what Romans chapter 9 is all about. Like a Romans ch 9 for dummy's guide. First, read verses 1 and 2. Next, read verses 30, 31, and 32. Now that you have the idea what Paul is saying in that chapter go ahead and read all the stuff in between interpreting it all in light of these verses you first read:

With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it. My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed—cut off from Christ!—if that would save them. ...

...What does all this mean? Even though the Gentiles were not trying to follow God’s standards, they were made right with God. And it was by faith that this took place. But the people of Israel, who tried so hard to get right with God by keeping the law, never succeeded. Why not? Because they were trying to get right with God by keeping the law instead of by trusting in him. They stumbled over the great rock in their path.

See, it is so simple. The Jews are missing it. Being right with God is by faith in Jesus Christ not by keeping the law. It is not about predestination Calvinists.
First of all, you could get a clearer picture of Jesus's doctrine if you would use the KJV. The people he had reference to in the nation of Israel were disobedient children, but, were still his children. Because of the fact that they held on to the old law of works is why God turned away from Israel as his favored nation and turned to the Gentiles. If you read chapter 10:1-3, it might make more sense to you. They had a zeal toward God, but not according to knowledge. Paul went on in the following verses to explain how they could be saved ( delivered from their lack of knowledge. ) If you have a zeal of God, you have already been born of the Spirit. The children of God have many deliverance ( salvation while they live here on this earth. Greek meaning of salvation meaning a deliverance ) I do not know if you believe in OSAS, but there are many scriptures to back it up. All of God's children in Eph 1, are predestined.
