Ice rings are certainly not a reliable determinate for earth ages. There can often be a number of cooling and warming cycles within the period of a single year which renders the study of ice rings as a temporal measurement completely worthless. Yet, it is upon such theories that the scientific community rest their reputations and propagate some rather outlandish conclusions.
It is like with fossil record and evolution.

If an animal dies today and falls to the ground, it would be totally gone before the earth had time to cover it and make a fossil out of it.

the flood is the ONLY explanation of fossils being so numerous and global (yes, an animal dieing in a tar pit may be fossilized, But even this would be only if the pit hardened before the animal decomposed.

Well, it is certainly the only viable explanation of such a massive fossil record. Proper conditions do occur at times that allow organic materials to fossilize but, the existence of such a fossil record as we have existing on such massive scale suggests that a single catastrophic event was instrumental in the formation of that record.

I believe science is more exacting then ever before. I believe the Bible is accurate and the Word of God. I also believe the Bible is the history of man and man on this earth and not a history of the earth. This is not talking about ice rings but about the polar ice where the measurements are significant evidence where there is never a complete thaw. Right now, there is a ongoing thaw which some call Global Warming. Then you have to look at the earth and the orbit and realize that changes have occured throughout the history of the earth just like we are seeing now - a partial melt. It is not the first time this has happened. Why is the Bible being treated as a history of the earth rather than a history of man who was created on the earth? To discredit science only creates a situation where men debate the Word of God. As a debate, science has more proof. Evolution is ridiculous - a foolish concept in the mind of a dreamer. The Fractured Earth was written in National Geographic. Do a search - where did salt water come from. Any cook knows to dissolve a salt-like mixture in water requires heat. If heat was applied to water around the core of the earth which contained the minerals and the earth fractured, then there are seas. Why is there ice at the north and south poles? This is not a simple answer but it is a fact that this takes a long time and it happened before man was created. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.....and (after that) This is what the debate is all about - In the Beginning and this is what science is looking at. A lot of scientist are strong Christians - stronger because they realize there is not a simple answer. It is a not wise to think of earth science as stupid for God gave us the ability to inquire of the Lord just like David - when you look at the magnificance and wonder of the creation of God why debate In the Beginning?

I wonder if the earth's crust collapsed into the water below, and I wonder how would it look like from ground level. Would it look like great fountains bursting from the ground?

Being turned upside down - what went down and what went up. Underwater submarines are going to great depths looking for the answer. I believe God made us to be curious. When the Bible was written, man did not have the ability to know so he wondered. Instead of using superstition - he uses science. When I read about Hunza Valley - I wondered if the flood did not happen in a valley like that where there is a river and it is a basin. What is all the world but the world that man knows exists during his time. Was the Flood a worldwide flood? Cannot be like In The Beginning because the Flood of Noah was freshwater. In beginning, the waters were separated and in the Flood of Noah the waters receeded. All of this happened around the equator so the poles were still frozen. There are three norths - the magnetic north, the polar north, and the actual north based on the stars. To me, the earth looks in one way like a gigantic atom and in another way like a precision timepiece, and then again in another way like magnetic marvel. There is no way for man to understand how this all works but it is a way for man to appreciate the magnificent wonder of it all.

Gen 10:25 is probably a reference to the division of languages. Prleg was the great-great-great grandson of Noah and was born 102 years after the flood. The tower of Babel had to have occurred close to the time of Peleg's birth because of the reason he was named Peleg which means "division."
How about a word study and a stance....(probably?)

It seems that Peleg is the clue...

Peleg=Strongs 6389 EARTHQUAKE which fits the context of the earth being divided in the days of EARTHQUAKE (PELEG)

thats odd. You got me thinking, so I looked it up.

6388. פֶּלֶג peleg (811b); from 6385; a channel, canal:—channels(1), stream(1), streams(8).

Thomas, R. L. (1998). New American Standard Hebrew-Aramaic and Greek dictionaries : updated edition. Anaheim: Foundation Publications, Inc.

6388 פֶּלֶג [peleg /peh·leg/] n m. From 6385; TWOT 1769a; GK 7104; 10 occurrences; AV translates as “river” nine times, and “stream” once. 1 channel, canal.

Peleg (Hebrew: פֶּלֶג / פָּלֶג, Modern Péleg / Páleg Tiberian Péleḡ / Pāleḡ ; "division") is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as one of the two sons of Eber, an ancestor of the Israelites, according to the "Table of Nations" in Genesis 10-11 and 1 Chronicles 1. Peleg's son was Reu, born when Peleg was thirty, and he had other sons and daughters. According to the Hebrew Bible, Peleg lived to the age of 239 years. (Genesis 11:16-19)

I just pulled this off of Wikipedia, but really does not matter how secular sources define the word. What is important is the definition scripture gives the word. "Two sons were born to Eber, the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan."

Peleg was born 102 after the flood event. If the name defines the division of the earth at the time of the flood then this could hardly have been in his day. Also if the flood had been in his day he would not have survived nor would he have had a linage. If this is talking about the division of languages then this means we can get pretty close to the time of the Babble. This would place the division of languages in about the year 1758 after creation which is the year Peleg was born.

Since scripture does not give us a pointed explanation of what word division describes all we can rely on are clues in the text.

even with the pre-deluvian ring of water around the earth as mentioned in Genesis:

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” [SUP]7 [/SUP]Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. [SUP]8 [/SUP]And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

which is not present today in much capacity I might add, and also explains why solar radiation is doing what it is doing today, the protection was not as protective post flood.

it could not rain for 40 days and nights and flood the whole earth. this is impossible.
What about the water that was above the earth? I didn't see in this video where they talked about that.

The firmament is sky. The sky divided the water that was on earth from the water that was above earth.

Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

There was water above where the fowls were flying according to Genesis 1:6-8... At least according to the definitions and descriptions located in Genesis 1

The point of the video was simply to explain the geological effects of the flood as it related to the hydroplate theory.

Thats the point I was making. The water above the sky. Which would have caused a greenhouse affect on Earth

There were water that were beneath the earth crust which it was layer of water, and there were water on top of the earth that had came from geysers that watered everything that was on the earth surface and made rivers that lead to a river basins.

Roger. I was insinuating, I guess, that some of the geological effects were from the water coming down out of the sky as well as the hydroplate theory.

I was showing that his theory is missing an important aspect. Possibly... Maybe he explains this in some other video. He obviously knows much more about geology and tectonic science than I do. I just know the bible... a little...

Well, at least that is what I got from it. You may see something different.
I cant watch videos on my work computer. And have not had much time since I have been home.. I will watch it soon.

All 7 times it is used in my Strong's Exhaustive Concordance has the following....6389 Peleg Peh-leg the same as 6388;earthquake; Peleg a son of Shem:peleg.

All seven times it is listed as 6389 and the above is verbatim word for word out of my Strongs.

Forget the video and have faith in the word. It was flooded and if not for the faith of Noah I wouldn't be typing this.

If the name is related to a geological division (which is certainly possible), it must be related to some geological event that is not recorded that is not related to the flood. The time of the flood and the time of Peleg are too far removed in time to have any connection because the flood did not occur in the days of Peleg.
