Luke 2

[SUP]39 [/SUP]And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
[SUP]43 [/SUP]And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
[SUP]46 [/SUP]And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
[SUP]48 [/SUP]And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
[SUP]49 [/SUP]And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
[SUP]50 [/SUP]And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
[SUP]51 [/SUP]And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
[SUP]52 [/SUP]And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
I marvel at this and though there are many will start with this.

Holy Words, long preserved
For our walk in this world.
They resound with GOD's own Heart.
Oh let the ancient Words impart.

Words of life, Words of hope,
give us strength, help us cope.
In this world where every road,
ancient Words will guide us home

Holy Words, of our faith.
Handed down to this age.
Came to us through sacrifice.
Oh heed the faithful Words of CHRIST.

Ancient Words ever true.
Changing me and changing you.
We have come with open hearts.
Oh let the ancient Words impart.

Peace be with you, this is taken from a song that tells the story of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you in spirit and truth.

[h=3]Matthew 5-7[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount[/h]5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
[h=3]The Beatitudes[/h]He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 24:13-35

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Road to Emmaus

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And He said to them, “What things?”
So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
[SUP]20 [/SUP]and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. [SUP]21 [/SUP]But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.”

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

The Disciples’ Eyes Opened

[SUP]28 [/SUP]Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.

[SUP]30 [/SUP]Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

[SUP]32 [/SUP]And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
[SUP]33 [/SUP]So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,
[SUP]34 [/SUP]saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.

Christ lived in Israel, Christ as a man was Jewish. Israel was ruled by a foreign emperor, from Rome. Jewish people hated that. They thought that a Messiah would come and free them from Rome, but when Christ came he didn't free them from Rome, Christ freed them from sin so they could be forgiven of their sin and live eternally. He gave them power to know Him in their hearts and through that, live with love in their hearts. Jews at that time didn't want that, they just wanted the Romans out of their country so they did all they could to harm Jesus and accuse Him.

So Jesus tried to teach them about love. One day He and all the people who followed Him were very hungry and it was the Sabbath. We are to rest on the Sabbath and not work. Christ picked some grain that was growing in a field to eat. The Jews against Christ said that was working. One day Christ healed a sick man on the Sabbath, too. Christ explained that love was to be used on the Sabbath, not just not working.

The Jews who headed the Jewish church in Israel were against Jesus, but the people weren't. A huge group of people followed Jesus out of town one day, and asked Him to tell them about God. What He told them is written in the bible, it is a beautiful talk called the Sermon on the Mount. One thing he told about was Christian Law. We were given how to live, way before Christ came. Christ said it was fine to read all about how God wants us to live, but it is a lot more than that list. It has to do with how we think. When we think with love and not blaming other people, not harming them, that is what the law is all about.

The day that Christ died was quite a day. He was killed slowly by being nailed to a cross, they did that at 9:00 AM. Then at noon, there was an eclipse so everything went very dark. There was an earthquake, even. They had a huge church where the Jews worshipped, and that temple wasn't needed after Christ died because it is through what He did that day that we worship Him. We do that with love in our hearts and asking forgiveness of our sins through the blood he gave that day and taking on our death and sin. To show that, a huge curtain in the temple 30 feet long and as thick as a man's hand is thick split right in two. Lots of things happened to show that Christ was God that day. Then at 3:00 in the afternoon, God gave up His spirit. God says that the temple isn't in a building any more, it is in our hearts. We are the temple of God.

God's followers were crying and they didn't understand about Christ's death at all. They put his body in a cave, and his Mom and lots of women who loved Him stayed around the cave for days. Then sometime on Saturday, he just left the cave. They had put a huge rock at the entrance to the cave, it took many men to move it. On Sunday morning the women who were watching at the cave woke up and that rock had been moved and Christ was gone, body and all. It shows us that through the forgiveness that Christ offers for our sins, we have a part of us that lives forever with Christ.

Christ later came to some of the disciples that followed Him, just to show them that He was God, and we can live eternally.

The Wednesday before last Thanksgiving, I was informed I would be fired for something very trivial. I have never been fired before in all my life. I went through the entire weekend feeling very blue. I went back to work and the whole firing thing disappeared

I was very relieved. Then I saw a vision. In this vision I saw what looked like a painting. In the back ground I saw things moving in slow motion. I saw a a storm at sea with high waves, wind blowing and occasional flashes of lightening flashes. In the center of this picture was a painting of Jesus. He had dark hair and the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. He was looking strait at me and had a calm smile. I felt peaceful calm and loved during this vision and after it for a couple of days.

The funny thing of it all was I have saying I mention to those who are in tough circumstances. Which is "Don't do a Peter and look at the big scary waves. Keep your eyes on Jesus". This vision was a graphic way of feeding me my own words. Seems like God has a sense of humor too.

Hi, welcome :)! There are many more stories about Jesus that are in the Bible. Here's a link to the online Bible ---> http://www.biblegateway.com

Here's the story that Matt7777777 was telling you. It's one of my favorites. This has the ending as well :).

John 8:1-11

New King James Version (NKJV)

8 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, [SUP]4 [/SUP]they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” [SUP]6 [/SUP]This they said, testing Him, that they might havesomething of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” [SUP]8 [/SUP]And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Then those who heard it,being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. [SUP]10 [/SUP]When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
[SUP]11 [/SUP]She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
