Good catch. Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
This seems like a very strange thread.

I sure do! I think I have amassed around 360ish sets of Bible passages. Yes, it is plainly taught, but in my first 48 years of being a Christian, I never saw it. But, that's because I only thought I was a Christian. But when Jesus Circumcised my heart, that's when everything changed. I was given eyes to see, ears to hear, and legs to Spiritually walk with the Lord. I didn't have that before. At anyrate, once I understood the Power of God, I then began to study the Bible in a new way and the Lord opened up His hidden, Mysterious Plan. I am extremely fortunate.
So, what is you opinion on free will, and what is one of those 360ish texts. and how does that passage demonstrate your opinion is correct?

He actually became the sin of guiltless crucifixion. How does an animal become a sin for Yom Kippur?

It sounds like that notion struck us probably at about the same time. :) And while it is a funny story, I though it might be helpful. I could write one for the other side too, where it'd be just as goofy, you know, being "controlled" and all.
Hi there, charlie. You sure get around.:)

I hear you. Hey, could you do me a favor and give me an example of how, if it were possible, I would be able to violate your sense of free will. Thanks!
Very simple,If you find out that what I claim is a lie,Then it proves that I have free will. Then you are able to use God's word and God's will to violate my sense of free will. Of course, we usually call this teaching.

BTW,free will is not the Biblical word, so God took the time to find someone to cover up what it means to have no free will.

Jesus was "in the likeness of sinful flesh'. Even if Jesus Himself was not sinful flesh, the claim is the te flesh he was in the likeness of, that is our flesh, is sinful. But we also have a soul and spirit, which may not be sin-FULL.

This isn't my opinion. The Bible, however, reports that people have a limited sense of free will. In other words, humans can make micro choices and decisions, but their thoughts and behaviors are assigned. Our thoughts and decisions have a hedge of understanding placed around each of us. Some are more wise than others. Some will never possess the intellect to obtain a drivers license. And then we have Einstein. We all know that the Bible says that God distributes these things as He sees fit. The hedge of intellect that surrounds some is greater than the other.

Restricted ability to think, rationalize, and make decisions. Humans are pre-wired with our thought patterns, just as the birds who fly south for the winter. We don't think that way and we never would; yet those thoughts are pre-wired within the hedge of their minds; thus they think and behave as those birds are created to think and behave.

Before Christ, humans belong to the Devil and held by him to do his evil will. 2nd Tim 2:25-26

After Christ Redeems a soul, that person belongs to Him. They are then held captive by God with the Purpose of spreading His Holy Message of Christ. 2 Cor 2:14.

Either way, people will think and behave according to who their Spiritual Father is. This is what the Bible is about.

Let me know what your favorite translation is and I'll begin to post only in that translation from here on out. They all great, except The Message. That is firestarter. And, you can give me just about any story of the Bible and I'll show you the controlling Power of God. Easy peasy, lemon squeasy. :)

Sorry my friend, but after reading that three times, I had to quit. I don't quite get it. And, I have to get back to work. Cheers!

The SARX is not evil. This is a gnostic concept. Confusing self-preservation with sin is related to this. But we do not communicate with God, and that is the cause and not the body, nor the flesh, nor the sarx.

The sarx is not evil. It will be redeemed and we will have pure flesh and bone. Gnostics believed the flesh could never be redeemed and purified but needed to be transcended and permanently escaped from. But at present our fleshly instincts contradict and oppose our practise of the sermon on the mount.

Only the mind or your spirit is free from the bondage of the flesh, flesh has nothing to do with redeemed and purified.

It is the spirit that can be evil, and body is just a vessel(?).

Can you imagine what it's going to be like to be caught up in the sky with our Resurrected Brothers and Sisters?! It will be a flood of people in the sky, rushing toward Christ, and we will be like all the stars in the sky. Just imagine looking around at all of us people rushing toward Jesus . . . and looking back toward Earth, as it becomes smaller, and smaller. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
