I see the truth in alot of what you said and you have to understand where im coming from the reason there are so many offshoots of Christianity is because there are so many false doctrines so I listen to as many pastors and denominations as I can that teach strictly from Gods word as supreme authority so I can know the truth and not be deceived by the enemy's lies. I think one of the things the enemy is hardest at work is trying to infuse lies into gospel. I've only been studying word for about seven years so I have alot to learn but just because someone tries to pass there ideologies off to me as truth I am leary for every truth there is sure to be a false truth.
i listen to a whole lot of preachers from different denominations too -- i have a long commute, an hour each way, and i play what i like to call 'sermon audio roulette' while i'm driving, listening to two random sermons a day on average. it's taught me not to just accept what preachers say but to scrutinize it -- because i hear pastors contradicting each other. so one kind of 'litmus test' i've developed is like you say, do they teach from God's word or not? and another is, do they believe that Christ is God or not? i've found that very useful, and i gotta say, sermons that don't have error in them seem rarer than i used to think they were, before i started listening to tons of them. it's just like you say, there are a lot of false doctrines out there, and a lot of people who really don't know any better because they've been taught them all their lives and never really looked at the Bible and as it's written, and thought about whether what they are hearing really matches up with it.

was her "coverage" like fig leaf?
i imagine they sewed them somehow together. an individual fig leaf isn't really much of a covering -- and iirc the word in Hebrew means something like 'tunic' or 'apron' -- not just like one leaf pasted on somewhere, like you see in renaissance art lol

Metaphorically, they ate the fruit of their disobedience

So true also I watch alot of ministries on you tube and i pray to god to give me spirit of truth. What's interesting is god revealed to me that even though these pastors don't all quite have exact same beliefs I can still learn from them you just have to be scholar of bible to spot their misconceptions. I like getting different insight.
