Ok. So today we are going to find God's best in every decision.
1) Should I date Bonnie or Mary?
2) Should I buy a used VW or a Toyota
3) Shoyuld I but a house in Burnt Hills or Gross Pointe?
4) Sould I invest in BP or US Steel?

The lucky pagan doesn't have this problem. He has rules (we too have rules) but his choices are not grounds for a "sin."

I'll wait a few minutes. This is the issue that the early church faced. Wycliffe's grave was dug up. His corpse was burned. His ashes were thrown into a river! The Pope was angry. This (apparently) would keep Wycliffe from joining those who would rise (from the dead) at the call.

The answer to this problem will be posted in a few seconds. I let the group in 1994 have days, but today people have no patience, and dont want to ponder the great questions. I guess we can blame facebook and hiippy parents. So I'll just type the answer as fast as I can.

Wycliffe was declared a Heretic by no one less than the leader of the church, the pope! Please take a moment to google this. No more vitrolic venomous PMs, please.

Okay I'll bite. I can only go from where I am right now. I would choose the car.

Let's get to work. Before we begin, perhaps you'd like to get a cup of coffee and a bagel?
The pagan definition of sin is to violate (break) a law of whatever religion. Nordic religion had laws. The religions of Rome had laws. Every pagan religion has, or had, laws. And men were obviously able to break those laws. Therefore, we can agree that sin is common to these religions. In fact, it may be impossible to have a religion without sin.
So, what is different about our religion? The word amartais puts us in a whole different category. Wycliffe (Please see my prior post.), the man who translated the Bible from Greek to English, recognized this and, subsequently, he took care to select a word that would properly explain "amartais."
Amartais means, "to miss God's best." In this definition, we see two outcomes and they are that we either find God's best or we miss God's best.
Now, let's see this concept in action. A Christian is allowed to choose one of three choices. His goal is to find God's best. The first choice is a trip to a communist country. The second is an automobile. The third is a vacation in Hawaii. Which would you choose?

88, good point. I worked at a health spa. God told me to quit work. 3 weeks later a gunman walked in and shot 13 people. The lord desires to participate not be an observer in our lives. Many fight this because they are sitting on the throne and dont want to get off. The first example would be Saul, I guess. Israel didnt want God to be their KING.

Well, here's the answer: as we have seen, you need perfect knowledge to do what God has asked us to do. But only God has perfect knowledge. We need that knowledge. We need to hear God and when we do, He will share that knowledge and we will be able to find God's best.
So, amartais is telling you that you must hear God! Now I will ask you one of my infamous questions: "Where in scripture does it say that we must hear God?" I believe that this is an easy one.

To me the answer is simple. To "Find God's best " in every decision, we must ask for God;s help! We should buy BP because it will climb, we (I) should marry the one girl that God knows is best for me. God sees the future. I don't

The Pope hated Wycliffe. Why? Maybe the pope didn't care to hear God? Saul didn't want to hear God. We humans are obstinate.

Well, I really hate being attacked. However, since 1994, nothing has changed. Christians are beautiful people. Sometimes. When the claws come out, it's ugly. Since 1994, I've not done much teaching on forums. Bye.

Now, let's see this concept in action. A Christian is allowed to choose one of three choices. His goal is to find God's best. The first choice is a trip to a communist country. The second is an automobile. The third is a vacation in Hawaii. Which would you choose?
Now, the personal information on this individual is that in 1937, prior to the invasion of middle Europe (by Hitler), this man was separated from his brother. Because of Hitler, he could not get to see his brother. Unfortunately, after World War II, the communists took control of this country so, again, the man was still unable to see his brother. Incidentally, this is taken from real life, and the lost brother died before the man could see him.
In this case, a trip to a communist country would be the best choice. It would be much better than a trip to Hawaii or a car. But you may have chosen the car or the vacation.
You see, in this case, how one, a trip to Yugoslavia, was God's best. You can also see that what is "God's best" depends on the person involved.
Interestingly, none of the above choices involved breaking any Biblical law. But two of the choices were "sins." Therefore, to sin in our religion is vastly different than in any other. Soon you will see that this is a positive thing.
When you look at it, our God is very different from any other god. He wants us to find His best. He desires us to have His best. He wants us to have only His best.
Amartais changes nothing about keeping or breaking the law, but now we have an even higher standard. We are expected to find God's best.
Here’s the problem. When we seek God's best, we can’t find it. Why? We are ill equipped to find God's it. If we are to find God's best (on a regular basis), then we will need more information. We need to know all the information involved in each choice. This may involve many different subjects. For instance, who is the right person to marry? Where should I invest my money? What car should I buy? Should I go to see a particular movie? I need a birthday present. Etc.

Ah...And so I would have chosen the car because I have told Him I need one or else that He keep this one running and I would assume He decided on a new one!

Yes you are right that they didn't want anyone to hear God because then they would all go after Him instead of the tower they built.

Stunned our God cares enough to carefully select the right car, He has the hairs on your head counted. He has more thoughts for you than there are grains of sand on the beach. Both of those are scripture quotes.

People attack the idea of hearing God. Saul wanted to sit on the throne. They laugh and make jokes. God is serious. He wants into our lives in a real way.

I fear I have much work too do before midnight.

Thank you johnteel. I'm sorry you were spoken to roughly. I agree that we need to hear God. Protestantism seems to me to have built a tower of doctrine that is used to do away with the Spirit. It's almost like a repeat of: no we want a king to rule over us rather than the Spirit...

OK. First, as a NEW person here, I have no credibilaty. So, before you do anything else, do these things--seek outside confirmation.
1) call your minister and confirm that the correct definition for amartais. is "To miss the God's best.
2)
a) contact a Greek scholar to confirm above
b) confirm that there is no "h" in the greek alphabet. The Greeks use an aspirated A to create the h sound.
3) If you are the assured that I am not a "heretic," then we can concede that is a closed matter.
Two words: Jesus Saves.

This makes the grace of God even more precious for what has happened with this mans revelation, is that even those of us who believe we are walking close to the Lord....still do not wait on Him for all things. We are exposed! Yet, He loves us greatly. He knows are frame, remembers we are dust.

I hope I don't fail but I still see a struggle in myself even looking back at what I called mistakes.

of course our flesh will rebel at this for sin is what we are....
