Hello. I am not Christian, but I am wanting to learn and understand. I have some disabilities, please can you use simple words for me.

I was told to ask my questions here.

If someone hits their head and cannot control their hands sometimes... Does it mean they are bad and the devil is inside them?

Thank you.
There are few new parents today who haven't considered the possibility that autism might affect their child. And many parents are wondering if chemicals in our air, food, and water are to blame for what has been called the "autism epidemic."
The number of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) has been rising steadily, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now estimate that ASD affects about 1 in 110 children in the U.S. 40 percent of these children have intellectual disabilities, and all suffer from impairments in social interactions. Some also have problems with communication and behavior.
The cause of this rise in autism, which many studies have shown cannot be explained by changes in diagnosis methods, is still unknown. Although a few percent of ASD cases can be traced to inherited genes, our genes don't change dramatically over the span of just a few decades.
One thing that has changed dramatically over the last several decades is human exposure to toxic chemicals and metals in the environment. Many of these chemicals and metals are known to affect the developing fetal brain. These include lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), arsenic, cadmium, and manganese. NRDC: Brain Drain: Could Environmental Chemicals Cause Autism?

The EPA has research that shows infants with prenatal exposure to mercury correlated to lower scores in neurodevelopmental screening but more so in the linguistic pathway. A study by U.S CDC foundstatistically significant associations with thimerosal-vaccines (mercury preservative) by the age of six-months and a federal study using vaccine study bases confirmed that autism, speaking disorders, and heart arrestshave increased significantly with the increase of thimerosal- containing vaccines. Animals and infants that were predisposed to mercury prenatally were predisposed to epilepsy and seizures. http://www.examiner.com/article/dental-amalgams-largest-source-of-mercury-causing-autism-add-dyslexia

This week, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) called on “Physicians to educate their patients, the medical community, and the public to avoid GM (genetically modified) foods when possible and provide educational materials concerning GM foods and health risks.” They called for a moratorium on GM foods, long-term independent studies, and labeling. AAEM’s position paper stated, “Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food,” including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system. They conclude, “There is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects. There is causation,” as defined by recognized scientific criteria. “The strength of association and consistency between GM foods and disease is confirmed in several animal studies.” The Truth Is Out on Genetically Modified Foods - And It's Not Pretty

And this is what someone else posted on another thread.

Now a new study has found that altering the androgens of a fetus during early pregnancy -- this time by by-products of PVC (the plastic pipes found in most home plumbing) -- can not only alter the gender of the brain but can change the formation of the genitals in the newborn.

Exposure to mercury pollution could be hitting some wild birds' reproductive prospects hard by causing males to pair with other males.
American white ibises (Eudocimus albus) from south Florida that consumed methylmercury (MeHg), the most toxic and easily absorbed form of mercury found in the environment, were more likely to engage in same-sex pairings — a phenomenon unknown in wild populations of this species with no exposure to the pollutant. there are a lot of reasons people do this. I had a friend that could not control his movements and some of his speech. He did not hit himself, but he would have ticks of moving fingers, looking up & squinting his eyes, and on rare occasions; barking like a dog .

He had some form of Tourette Syndrome. So it can easily be that. Have you seen a doctor about it ?
In a rare chance it could be a evil spirit. But im not there so I dont know for sure; and I would not be quick to form conclusions until you can find out more.

Tourette’s Syndrome, also known as Tourette’s Disorder is a neurological disorder, which means it originates in the brain and/or the nervous system. It is believed it may be caused by a malfunctioning in the way the brain uses its neurotransmitters, particularly dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that transmit information from one nerve cell to another and play a crucial role in learning, behavior, mood, memory, sleep, pain perception and sexual desire. It is the brain’s communication system. The unusual and uncontrollable sounds and movements that occur with Tourette’s are a clear indication that something in the brain is not functioning properly.
Imbalances and malfunctioning of neurotransmitters is extremely common in our society, although it is rarely heard about. When you hear someone saying that a health condition is caused by a “chemical imbalance,” what they are referring to are neurotransmitters. Not only are they connected to Tourettes, but they are also often at the root of depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, addiction, autism, chronic pain, fatigue, hyperactivity, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s eating disorders, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel, impulse control ,schizophrenia, aggression and many other conditions.
Although sometimes neurotransmitter abnormalities can be genetic and one may be born with them, they may also occur later in response to a variety of other situations. Other factors that alter or deplete neurotransmitters are a diet lacking in adequate protein, a diet high in sugar, white flour and other refined junk food, caffeine, nicotine, alcohol and drugs, excessive ongoing stress, nutritional deficiencies or imbalances, Candida overgrowth, food allergies or sensitivities, child abuse and neglect, brain trauma like a concussion, and environmental toxins like pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals and other endocrine disruptors that are found in common everyday chemicals.

Glad to know you are in a support living, that I am sure helps and sometimes feels like it doesn't.
Yet check into the tourettes syndrome to see what you can get help there in if this is the case
Prayers are all with you and for you, knocking out all that does not truly help you. Sometimes we see things as not helping when in the long run they do. So ask in your own heart, what God is the purpose here and now for me as your child, and begin the trust in all things to see behind the curtain of all actions and reactions here on earth, that happen to us
Kind of like look at the book of Job written in the first testament, might be helpful to see others troubles to know we are not alone in troubles
All in Love to you, to be you a person in Love to all

First off I am an atheist. I do not accept the argument that demons even exist. Secondly, not all Christians themselves believe in demon possession, though many here probably do. If you or someone you know is self abusive then medical attention should be your, or their, first option. Seeking help from a mainstream healthcare professional is the best advise I can offer.

Any kind of head injury can cause problems with the physical body. It can range from causing brain lesions and MS, like my sister who hit her head in a car accident, to motor problems, including the hands.

I think it is absurd to even think for a minute that this is in any way a result of demonic possession.

As to the more important question, do you know how to become a Christian? Do you understand what it means?

1. We all have sinned. Romans 3:23 (Sin means displeasing God!)

2. Sin separates us from God. God is holy and pure and he cannot tolerate sin. Romans 6:23

3. God loves us and created us in his image to be his children but since the Garden of Eden, we have not been able to live the way God created us to live. Gen 1:26-27, Gen. 3

4. Because God loves us, he sent his perfect Son to die on the cross for our sins, in our place. Romans 5:8

5. If we believe in Jesus in our hearts, and confess with our mouths, God saves us. Romans 10:9-10

6. We need to repent or turn from our sins. Acts 2:38.

7. Find a Bible believing church to fellowship with. If you are able, read the Bible (there are simple versions if you have reading difficulties). And pray! Just talk to God. He loves you, and he will lead and guide you.

Glad to meet you, and please PM me if you want to know more, or if you want me to write all those Bible verses in full for you.

Lol,no dear.
No,it's not the devil if you had an accident on your own.But i would like to know the circumstance that lead to getting hit if it was not an accident. And even though disabilities can come from devilish influence, nothing stands against the Power of God Lord Jesus.
Accept Jesus as your personal Savior and follow Him.Pray to Him rather than look for instant deliverance. And soon when you start attending a Christian fellowship(not live christian shows) and start Worshiping Jesus, infirmities will go away by Healing through Holy Spirit.
Give God a chance to change you and you will not be ashamed.
God Bless:)

Generally,i want to apologize to the author of this thread to deviate the topic to something else. But for your clarification Cycel , Christians don't believe in demons, but in God we put our trust. And if you think Christians are not aware of spiritual wickedness(including demons) in high places, you have never been talking to Christians in the first place.

You might be blessed more so than those that do not have such as this? I do not know for sure, But somehow whatever situation one is in, God takes that and accepts that and treats us as his friend forever in the palm of his hand. I have seen a lot of love come from those with Autism, more so than I can understand and have learned from that love that God has put through those with Autism. I see it not as a handicap, praying you do not either, god just love us all in spite of our circumstances

I like the name Madeline. It's my 5 yr old nieces name. Even spelled the same way. :)

Anyway, I was really confused by this thread at first. I thought "ok you hit your head and had a reflex. No big deal" now I see there's more to it.

I don't know a lot about autism but I have been around many people(especially kids) who have it. It doesn't make you a bad person or ungodly. Certainly isn't a sign you have demons. The way I see it is you react to things in a different manner. Sometimes you may not be able to respond in a way that others see as normal so when someone who is autistic tries to communicate they may show more physical signs(like hands) than they can verbally express.

Chances are you're a very talented person and highly intelligent but people don't recognize that which may also cause a less than normal reaction.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you're fine! You may be "different" compared to what people want to consider normal but your soul is not in danger because you may react differently in a physical way.

Every person on this planet has imperfections. Some may be physical. Some may be mental. Sometimes these imperfections is what keeps us humble. Imperfections doesn't make us less of a person or less of a Christian. What it can do is strengthen us in our faith because we know when we get to Heaven we will be perfect.

My parents are both totally blind. My father has passed away but one thing he always told me was his blindness was his strength. He couldn't see the evil in the world and he was glad, and he knew that one day he will open his eyes and he will see because he will be in Heaven. I firmly believe the moment he died was the moment he could see.

No, it means they need to find a neurologist to see how to treat this, either by medication, surgery or time, as sometimes time is all that's needed for the body to heal itself. If you're not a Christian I urge you to go to the nearest Church of Christ and study with them, and when you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, then be baptized and start your new life as a Christian and enjoy the blessings you will receive from being a child of God.,
