Why does Paul insist that the human imagination cannot adequately express what Heaven is like? Well, Heaven is a realm without time or space as we know it. Let me illustrate. NDE visitors to Heaven sometimes report countless neautiful colors that lack any earthly parallels. One NDE visitor to Heaven thrilled to her family reunions, but added that only one phenomenon surpassed the thrill of that reunion: the music. She reported that all of Nature in Heaven is gloriously alive, the ponds, the waterfalls, the roses, etc. One can tune in to the 'harmony of each individual object of Paradise or one can tune in to the overarching harmony created by the music of each object! This makes no sense in our space-time experience, but precisely for that reason such experiences of heavenly harmony are absolutely convincing to the experiencer. Such ineffable experiences of unknown colors and harmonies are highlights of the NDEs of many.

But by far the most convincing genre of NDEs are "Shared NDEs," NDEs experienced by the dying person and by the friends and family members maintaining a deathbed vigil. These perfectly heatlhy witnesses are taken from their bodies and join the dying loved one on her journey toward the Being of Light, share the encounters with deceased relatives, and even the Past Life reviews. For example, watch Dr. Scott Taylor's testimony of his own Share Death Experience:

If Paul had been given the revelation John was given, he would have indeed been puffed up. And he wouldnt have concentrated on sharing the gospel to the gentiles in the way he did. The glory that John revealed is the same glory Paul reveals through his infirmities - the glory of God.

Some people are given near death visions, but not everyone is. John was an apostle just as Paul was.

Anyway, its a common misreading because so many people assume it was Paul. If it really was Paul, he would have written the book of Revelation.
Read verse 7.

Some believe that the Paradise that Paul mentioned in verse 4 is the garden of Eden and that it is beneath heaven.
I have no opinion. Just mentioning.
