Unconditional love never means compromise, it does mean that we are to be gracious and truthful in all things. Unconditional love can accept people where they are at without compromising with sin or with the capacity of understanding that one may have. Our job through grace and truth is to impart light through the word that reveals the life that God has imparted to us through his Son. We can do that being motivated by the unconditional love of God without judging, comparing or being puffed up about it. If we are going to be instructed by the words of Christ we must receive those words in meekness. A meek person who loves God will not react when being instructed or corrected with words of righteousness.

We may become disappointed at times when others have the wrong premise for their understanding but we can be patient, longsuffering and look for opportunities to impart grace and truth without losing our first love. Growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord is what we strive for by faith in our fellowship with Christ and one another. We will never be perfect in that execution but we can always recover and go onto perfection and in the process keep ourselves in the love of God. If we get off on that the Holy Spirit will convict our hearts.
