the phrase is the exercises of faith in going unto Christ and in coming forth in the outward confession of him.

Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

If Jesus is the door to salvation, and entering "in" speaks of entering into said salvation, how then does the "out" speak to Jesus' faithfulness? I don't see the connection.

One would think when you enter through the door/Jesus, by faith into salvation, that they entered into the kingdom of God.

The subject of Jn 10:9 is the door, and there is no period after the door that would suggest a change in the subject. The word "and", is a continuation or extension of the thought of the subject, which again is "the door", and there is only one door mentioned that one enters in or goes through. So how do we go in one door and "out" another to find pasture?

Joh 10:9 I G1473 am G1510 the G3588 door: G2374 by G1223 me G1700 if G1437 any man G5100 enter in, G1525 he shall be saved,G4982 and G2532 shall go in G1525 and G2532 out, G1831 and G2532 find G2147 pasture. G3542

In
G1525
εἰσέρχομαι
eiserchomai
ice-er'-khom-ahee
From G1519 and G2064; to enter (literally or figuratively): - X arise, come (in, into), enter in (-to), go in (through).

Out
G1831
ἐξέρχομαι
exerchomai
Thayer Definition:
1) to go or come forth of
1a) with mention of the place out of which one goes, or the point from which he departs
1a1) of those who leave a place of their own accord
1a2) of those who are expelled or cast out
2) metaphorically
2a) to go out of an assembly, i.e. forsake it
2b) to come forth from physically, arise from, to be born of
2c) to go forth from one’s power, escape from it in safety
2d) to come forth (from privacy) into the world, before the public, (of those who by novelty of opinion attract attention)

Out
G1831
ἐξέρχομαι
exerchomai
ex-er'-khom-ahee
From G1537 and G2064; to issue (literally or figuratively): - come-(forth, out), depart (out of), escape, get out, go (abroad, away, forth, out, thence), proceed (forth), spread abroad.

Find
G2147
εὑρίσκω
heuriskō
hyoo-ris'-ko
A prolonged form of a primary word εὕρω heurō; which (together with another cognate form, εὑρέω heureō) is used for it in all the tenses except the present and imperfect; to find (literally or figuratively): - find, get, obtain, perceive, see.

Pasture
G3542
νομή
nomē
Thayer Definition:
1) pasturage, fodder, food
1a) fig. he shall not want the needful supplies for the true life
2) growth, increase
2a) of evils spreading like a gangrene
2b) of ulcers
2c) of a conflagration

Another word for pasture is food, and the one spiritual food we are to feed on is the word of God.

1Co_3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

So how does all this speak of "His faithfulness to His sheep in giving them good pasture"?

And what does the word "out" speak of? You failed to mention that.

think about sheep, and what they're like?

when there's danger, or night falls, they go into the sheepfold for safety. when day dawns, or the danger is past, the Shepherd leads the sheep OUT of the pen to find food and water.

you may doubt the faithfulness of God in the saving of His people, if you wish.
i just can't go there with you.

"then where is the kingdom of God, and how do we both get and stay there?"

Jesus.

There is a spiritual world, or realm, that co exists and coincides with this world. there is Much proof of this in the Bible, if you Notice How People are " possessed By devils" or demons, evil spirits" and Jesus drives them Out. the spirits See Jesus and they cry out " Jesus thou son of God, what do You want with us, Have you come to torment us before the appointed time?"

Jesus commands them Out of the particular person, in this case the Man who was so violent and strong that No one could Handle Him so the town chained Him outside of town, possessed with Many devils or "evil spirits" Paul teaches that Our struggle is against the rulers and powers of darkness in the heavenly, or spiritual realm. when a young 15 year old Boy, gets it in His Mind and Heart to do one of these terrible school tradgedies where they Kill a bunch of other People.......There is a spirit that brings the thoughts and plants those seeds, even cultivating them .

No One believes in the spiritual things anymore, Yet Jesus, Peter, Paul and other disciples all drove them Out of People. the Person in some cases Had what seemed as ceizures, and would fall to the ground, the spirit would be cast out, and the sickness left the person. or whatever condition the spirit had the person Bound in. again the One i reference was a Man of violence and aggressiveness apparent insanity. when Jesus drives them Out, the Man gets dressed in His right Mind, and comes Begging to Go with Jesus, Jesus tells Him, Go back to your town, and tell them all that God Has done for you, show them yourself now....

we Now in the World Here " there is a spiritual realm" and we start imagining science fiction Movie type things, and it sort of Hits us as " mysticism" or some cooky Belief...Only its Very relevant and apparent and even taught to the Church, By the apostles and Jesus. evil spirits in the world are a real thing, they Just arent what the Movies and things teach People they are. No many really Believe, what the Bible says is true anymore im noticing as i go through My Life. we get to the Point where " well theres No judgement like Jesus said. theres No right or wrong really sin doesnt exist Because Jesus died, we arent supposed to Believe the Gospel Jesus taught, Because thats the gospel of the Kingdom of God....but Paul, He didnt teach that, even though He says He did.....

even thoiugh Paul makes the statement, " Anyone who will not consent to Jesus words, the doctrine of Godliness....they Know Nothing, .......depart from them. but Now days Paul is said to totally disregard Jesus words, Because He taught no such things as Jesus......yet His letters all say the same things and talk about the same things Jesus taught :)

the Kingdom of God, remaining in it is to remain In Jesus. to remain in Him we Have to Believe Him. we Understand and know Jesus died for My sins, we also Know and accept Jesus was teaching, the Kingdom of God. the Kingdom of God is Like.....

when Jesus says Obey Me, or Keep My commands, what He is Not saying is keep every word i have ever said perfectly and then I will give you the holy ghost and save you" <<<<not what He is saying.

He is saying " I am the Lord, I came from Heaven to suffer and died for you, come to Me Believe in Me, Learn from Me, follow Me, abide in Me, trust in Me im telling you the truth, God sent Me, Look...I rose from the dead Like i told you i would, Now you Know to Believe My words.....its really about Belief, that will keep us in the Kingdom. to Believe, we simply cannot refuse to Believe Jesus teachings and all He said of the Kingdom, Because He is the One speaking the Kingdom forth. its why He was sent " He hath annointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the sick, to preach deliverance to the captives..."

Like all of His disciples then, we need to fellowship with His Word, His spirit, Learning from Him Knowing " Jesus is the Lord of Heaven and Earth. Jesus is right Now seated at Gods right Hand, interceding. when we do wrong Like with anyone, we offend someone, we ask thier forgiveness. we should feel guilt until were forgiven, and God promises forgiveness in the Gospel. Mercy received, Mercy Given.
