dont have a pressure cooker

if I lived near a forest I would be foraging for mushrooms, I particularly like wood ear mushrooms.

unfortunately in nz the forest has really been pushed back a lot but also theres not much that is actually edible in them. Last year I was learning rongoa (maori herbal medicine) but the amount of edible native fruits is very very small. One plant, the karaka, is poisonous if you dont prepare it properly.

I can imagine when the europeans came, the maori were so glad to see them because they brought with them potatoes. and peaches and apples and edible plants that could grow in our temperate climate.

its said that Adam and Eve and up to Noah were all vegetarians but I wonder if before that they ate fish.
I mean fish doesnt need to be sacrificed or offered at the altar like the clean beasts were, would it count as meat?

Just wondering if there was a difference there. And obviously, fish did not need to go on the ark.

One thing that came to my mind about Eden before the Fall is that obviously Adam and Eve were VEGETARIANS. ;)

I always figured that the reason plant life was all that was needed for complete/proper nutrition had to do with the rain which fell when the windows of heaven were opened (Gen 7:11). These were waters which were above the firmament (Gen 1:7).

Prior to that, all plant life was watered from the mist which rose from the earth (Gen 2:6). But when the windows of heaven were opened, waters which were above the earth ... above the firmament which divided the waters on the earth from the waters above the earth ... fell on the earth.

I can't prove it ... just something I have considered as being a reason why there was a change in God's instruction concerning eating of meat after the flood.

I dont either, I still borrow it. On coffeegrounds you don’t need to be that careful. But when growing cultures on agar or rye you definitly need to sterilize the whole in a pressure cooker. Many spores are not killed by alcoholgel.
I just don’t understand why we would pay money for something we can grow practicly free on little space. Why would I even buy bread if it’s made in less then 5 minutes fysical work? We as humans have lost our touch with nature and have become dependent of others feeding us. When this collapses....

Yes but European also brought a lot of disease with them. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Also keep in mind that people like Darwin were eperimenting with people from tribes as if they were wild animals.

I didnt say anything was all sunshine and rainbows but kumara doesnt keep or grow well in cooler areas and that was practically all they had as a staple food.

while potatoes were cursing the irish it seemed the opposite for maori...there are now maori potato cultivars.

One reason why china has a huge population...rice.

I was fascinated how the US had a surplus of wheat that they initially grew to export to russia. when that market collapsed and the farmers fell on hard times with their harvest, drought came it was ruin for most in the midwest. But for some reason, US and russia got into this weird cold war, when before they were exchanging/trading food.

in nz, arab countries get our lamb, japan gets our crayfish, the Uk gets our butter and the US gets our kiwifruit. all our best food gets exported to other countries and we get bananas and pineapples in return.

rgarding rye bread you are said you buy the rye at the shop so it still needs you going out and buying it, some people would rather buy things already prepared then make it themselves cos they just dont have the time to prep and cook. Or they are not near any cooking facilities.

If you are working and only have ten minutes or half an hour break for a meal, you dont want to spend much of that prepping and cooking and then barely have enough time to eat.

Mostly with rye but I change a lot. You can make it yourself too :)
Google the recipy for manna bread. It’s so easy. I always have dough for it in the fridge and eat each slice of bread fresh oven baked.

We must not think this earth is done for while generations are following in our traces. We must return to our essence and only take as much we need. Baking your own bread is a very economical way to start.
I am going to look into this , it sounds lovely , baked , hot and fresh...
I am type 2 diabetic , so shop bought read always has sugar in it , even if it is cooked o the premises ...

@reneweddaybyday

not sure Im following..God said animals will have 'the fear of you and the dread of you' will be upon the beasts and then further that no life will be take. that has blood in it, so supoosedly bloodless creatures like shellfish and insects one could eat? Or maybe flesh with blood in it is off limits. or is he saying everything should be cooked first. In Genesis Noah does make a burnt offering of clean beasts before God mentions this.

note that with herbs and fruits, they dont actually have to be cooked before being eaten. (although it can make everything taste better)

But with meat, very few people eat raw meat.

Genesis 9:

3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

My understanding is that the blood is to be removed from the meat before the meat is eaten.

Leveticus 7:26 Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings.
For generations, the process of koshering (removing the blood from) meat was the domain of the Jewish homemaker, often involving all the family members in the various steps. Today, rather than being a familiar aspect of the Jewish home, koshering is usually done at the butcher shop beyond sight of the consumer. However, many families still do kosher their meat.
Whether you entrust the koshering of your meat to a qualified butcher or choose to do it yourself, a working knowledge of the process is an important aspect of our understanding of kashrut.
Koshering is the process by which the blood is removed from the flesh of meat and fowl before it is prepared for eating. Only meat from kosher animals, properly slaughtered and with the forbidden parts already removed, may be koshered. The koshering process, known as melichah ("salting"), entails the following steps: washing or rinsing off the meat; soaking it in water; salting it; and rinsing it very well three times.
The complete koshering process should take place within 72 hours of the shechitah; therefore, before koshering, it is imperative to know exactly when the shechitah took place.

interesting, how can you tell if meat is koshered at a restaurant, the only time Ive seen blood in meat is when steaks are served rare.
Would that be fobidden. I dont know of offal is the 'forbidden parts' because presimably people eat the entire animal apart for the bone (and skin/fur/feathers) so theres no waste.
when properly cut in thin slices or stir fried meat theres no blood, I am supposing its only those who cook huge chunks of meat need to worry. (if they are following Leviticus)

I think you can get kosher meat from a qualified butcher and I believe if a restaurant advertises the meat served is kosher, it most likely is kosher.

I think koshering has to do with the way the meat is processed. Nowadays we can search online for a kosher butcher. I don't think a kosher butcher would sell 'forbidden parts', although I could be wrong. Seems to me a kosher butcher would know all about the dietary laws and would not sell what is not 'kosher' (again, I could be wrong on this).

What do you think was Eden like before the fall? Can it ever be recreated? Where exactly on earth was it?
Really nice:).

God can do anything!

All the old landmarks were probably washed away. I suspect that future things will center around the New Jerusalem.

For us to eat something has to die. Unless we only eat fruit. 😀
Lots of creepers crawl around in your gut. Some are rather friendly. Sit down and have a little talk with them sometime.

I don't think anyone can pinpoint where it was but it was what paradise was meant to be literal heaven on earth the ever presence of God beauty and glory abound
as for if it can ever be recreated if God chose yes but I think the garden is will be there in heaven when we get there

As a observation or theory. I would add knowing God is Light as the very essence of God and not that he can also create it as a attribute of our faithful Creator. It would seem for the first three days he was the literal light of the world . Hiding his presence 12 hours to indicate night. There is no darkness in God. On day four he created a source of light in effect he turned on the temporal switch as a corruption time keeper winding down leading to the last day under the Sun. Having corrupted the whole creation when he found pride in the heart of Satan.( Genesis 6:12 )

On the last day it would seem to return to its former glory the Sun and Moon used to represent the peace of God the father and Son working as one. The peace that surpasses our corrupted understand will return .There will be no more night as darkness. And children of light in our incorruptible bodies we will not be naked but as stars reflect the glory of His presence.

Revelation21: 22-25 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Glory to glory . Glory, glory, glory revealed.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Yes and it is trade that made countries great, not wars. We went through a long period of peace because of trade deals. But this was a ticking time bomb as resources only get more scarce.
When energy could be traded we went into more intens warfare. It was not about oil alone, it was also about in which currency it would be dealed. Euro, dollar or even a golden dinar was in the making.

I believe each country can become self sufficient (in food and energy supplies) without suffering a day of hunger. It is our need for more that is draining the earths resources before earth can naturally resupply.
In stead of fighting for color slash culture related equality, let us unite in making clean water, a proper home and healthcare a fundamental basic human right. We pay taxes enough for that to be achieved. Yet once following the money; those messing up our earth the most get paid the most too. Paid with taxmoney even when they are not elected.
