The Woman WAS dying.....and Adam WAS painfully aware of this.
THEREFORE Adam ate the fruit to be with the woman (become a sinner!) that GOD GAVE HIM.

Which of course is why Adam is later honored as being a type of Christ.

Likewise, Christ, being in agonies seeing His Bride suffering and dying, BECAME SIN FOR US (the Bride that God gave Him!) so that we might live.

Get the picture?
I understand your position. I don't subscribe to it. Adam didn't save Eve; God did.
In Romans 5, Adam is juxtaposed with Christ. Adam introduced sin and all that befell mankind as a result. Christ, on the other hand, introduced righteousness, overcame the world, paid for sin and reconciled the world to God. They seem a little different to me.

Good grief man you missed the whole point, so in fact you don't understand.
Adam himself did not save the Woman. But he DID SACRAFICE HIMSELF throwing both himself and her on God's mercy after fully confessing at their trial.

Furthermore, Adam DEFINITLY KNEW that he was not himself saving anybody. But he DID understand that God would certainly do it.
Because Adam knew his God. His mercy, his justice.

Oh and another thing......what happened to the Woman WAS an injustice. It was a sneak attack. It was wrong and Satan WAS FOUND GUILTY of the crime.

You had better take 8 or 10 hours and study those lectures and all of the similar ones.
Nobody seems to comprehend the subtleties and truths of Genesis 3.

I guess its just me and @posthuman

You are making the mistake of saying that I am postulating that Adam IS Christ or doing the WORK of Christ. That is not what the Bible is saying nor me.

Which of course is why Adam is a type of Christ."

"Adam did not keel over when he ate the fruit. But he did willingly decide to DIE aka SEPARATE from his God to save the woman.

The first Adam in the first garden sweat great drops of blood (in effect) agonizing over his FREE WILL decision to DIE (give up his life of sweet loving harmony and perfect fellowship with his God, becoming a sinner) to take responsibility of the sin of his bride to save his bride.

The last Adam in the olive garden sweat great drops of blood agonizing over his FREE WILL decision to DIE (give up his life of sweet loving harmony and perfect fellowship with his God, becoming sin for us) to take responsibility of the sin of His Bride to save His Bride."

I'm tracking just fine, and I'll pass on your series of "scholarship". If Adam was throwing them both upon the mercy of God, he wouldn't have thrown Eve under the bus. God gave him opportunity to explain himself. His own words revealed the reasons for his actions. Why do you suppose he didn't say something like...I knew You would have mercy on us?

No I'm not making that mistake. You are saying Adam is a type of Christ. The opposite is found in Romans 5. He is typical of man.

Really?

Romans 5:14
“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”

All of what you have said and all of what you believe about Genesis 3 is 100% wrong. Too bad buddy. You are stuck in the mud.

Thank God it's not me.

So tell me, are you in Adam or are you in Christ? Or does it matter?
According to 1 Corinthians 15, Adam's choices led to death. Christ's choices led to life.

Sorry man. Take 8-10-12 hours to absorb those lectures (and download the others that I did not include) and get back to me.
If not we have little to discuss.

I hope this makes perfect sense as much to you all as it does to me.
Because it does make perfect sense to me.

There were more than 400 years between the time of Jacob's twelve sons and the entrance into the Promise Land. Joshua and Moses were contemporaries as the Israelites readied to enter the Promised Land. Joshua was of the tribe of Ephraim (son of Joseph), and Moses was of the tribe of Levi. Take a look at Joshua's lineage as given in 1 Chronicles.

Joshua's Ancestors:

1 Chron 7:20, 23-27 (Ephraim was Joseph’s son)

20 The descendants of Ephraim: …
23 Then he lay with his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his family. 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon as well as Uzzen Sheerah.
25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son,
Telah his son, Tahan his son,
26 Ladan his son, Ammihud his son,
Elishama his son, 27 Nun his son
and Joshua his son.

Summary:

Joseph
Ephraim
Beriah
Rephah
Resheph
Telah
Tahan
Ladan
Ammihud
Elishama
Nun
Joshua (Hoshea)

So far, so good. Eleven generations over 400+ years.

Moses' Ancestors:

Ex 6:16-20

16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.
18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi.
These were the clans of Levi according to their records.
20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.

Moses Summary:

Levi
Kohath
Amram
(Eight generations missing!)
Moses

There you go buddy. Maybe you will be able to comprehend Genesis 3, maybe not. Few do. But I do. Lucky me.
That's great for you, glad you are so blessed, care to give some insight? as I don't have time in the soon foreseeable future to listen to them at the moment.

While I like types and can see Eve as a type of the church, I am aware of the possibility that types are limited to show only certain truths for example the Jordan is a great type of death, and Canaan a type of heaven, but once Israel crossed the Jordan the type finishes, otherwise people will start seeing sin in heaven etc

And again in the garden God put Adam to sleep and out of his side made Eve, likewise at the cross the Lord's side was pierced and out of his death/sleep the bride was formed.

Obviously the type is limited and will run into problems if carried to far, Adam could not have again been crucified by eating the fruit, Adam eating the fruit seems to be a hard picture to see as a type of Christs sacrifice for his bride was already with him, when the Lord sacrificed Himself there was no Eve yet it she came along at Pentecost etc etc.

But I am open to changing how I see the pictures if pointed in the right direction by yourself as part of discussion, not some audio sermons.

The Bible doesn't say how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden; it just says that Adam died at the age of 930.

Hypothetically, it could be 70 years. But we really do not know.
930 + 70 = 1000

In my studies I have found the world is about 6000 years old. Anyone else studied time from Adam?????
I believe the world is millions if not billions of years old. This earth age we now live in is probably a little over 14,000 years old. A day with the Lord is as a thousand years. God created this earth age in 8 days counting the creation of Adam in Gen 2. That would be 8,000 yrs. From Adam to the birth of Christ was another 4,000 yrs and since his death over 2,000 yrs have gone by. That adds up to a little over 14,000yrs. No human remains can be found before this time although they claim the bones of an ape to be human.
